I wouldn't exactly say that ev mid/high speakers blow the JBL's out the water, but they're definately excellent, and 1 of the top speaker manufacturers in the world, although there's getting to be so many these days, but my favourites are rcf, ev, eaw, turbosound, nexo, jbl, martin audio, db technologies, d&b audiotechnik and few others. I would say funktion one, but to be honest I like them but dont love them.

Anyway, back onto what we were talking about, yeah, you think 2 ev tx1152 would definately keep up with the mighty srx728? Thats a bold statement, especially seeing as their spec says that they're tested in half space and the jbl 728 sub is tested in full space. I would think it might take 4 ev tz1152 to keep up with my pair of srx728 subs. I wish I could hire a pair out from somewhere but I live in the uk, and there's hardly anything to hire out here other than nexo, L acoustics and a couple other brands really that i know of, and there's definately nothing within 100 miles from me that hire out anything than budget brands like skytec, rcl, american audio, wharfedale etc...

I really dont wanna offend you, but you DID say the word 'definately' keep up, not probably. The tour x subs are nice, I like them, but they're really not quite as loud as the srx728 subs. Even though in half space there's only 3db between their specs, its the fact that the srx728 subs can handle 3k as long as you dont clip the system, wheras ev can handle a lot but the drivers are known to fail when overpowered as much as people overpower the srx728 subs. With ev, the word that i've heard from professionals and even my old nightclub owner mates, is that ev's will last forever just the same as any other brand if you dont go stupid with ogverpowering them, like yiou can overpower jbl speakers. I dont want you to think i'm slating ev because im not, god I love ev, always have, even in the days of the deltamax systems. I heard a demo of the tx2181 in a shop run off an ev q1212 amp and the guy was running them as hard as he could without clipping them, and I thought "nice, very nice". I needed subs that went lower down into the frequency range because my mates who also dj on my system play a lot of oldskool rave which has tremendous amounts of bass below 45hz and a fair bit below 40hz, around 34hz and the ev tx2181 subs didn't seem to go down quite that low. They seemed like they were good down to about 50hz then seemed to roll off quite badly. I never even heard the srx728 subs before but people kept telling they were awesome and definately plummeted down to the depths of 35hz so I bought a pair and tried 1 of them out in my flat with a friend's samson sx2800 amplifier bridged and oh my god, they went low and hit f**king hard too. That was with a budget amplifer so they're gonna sound like when I stick the pair of them on a crown ma5000 I dont know, but I cant wait.

Its Like King Kong Vs Godzilla!! who is the winner its A tough Choice But I Went With The Jbl Srx 722 Over the EV Qrx 212 just Because That 4 inch 2451H likes to chow chow on 3 inch High Drivers, Both are good cabinets But after talking to a very experience Sound Engineer that Has a Meyer Milo Set up he said he would go with the 722,i demo them at Guitar Center!! and after that never looked back !!!im very happy!! and i recommend the SRX 722 or the Qrx 212 to everybody out there!!
