Sounds,
As you mentioned, very few people took advantage of the offer of paying you a convenience fee. That should tell you something.

I know another dj company that accepts credit cards, but never tells anyone. He only says yes if they say thats the only way they can pay.

about 40% of our payments are by credit card. We promote it on the website and let our clients know that whichever way is easiest for them to secure that date is good enough for us.

I gladly pay the fee to process credit cards. It means 2 things. Someone is paying me NOW and we are booking shows. Paying the processing fee is MUCH better than someone telling me they want to book, me sending them a contract, waiting for it to come back, calling them again because i have not received their check. Then getting their check and driving it to the bank. Is it worth all of that to save 8-10 bucks while making life more difficult for some of your clients?

I know another DJ that accepts credit cards for down payments, but not for final payments. He says it saves him money on the processing. So he is telling his clients, "I have the ability to accept credit cards, I just dont really care to make it easy on you to pay me.

the online planner is the same way....it's all how you sell it to the clients. When I tell people how the online planner is there to make their life easier...because it is, they jump on it.

less than 1% of our clients dont' like to use the planner, and we'll gladly work with them another way.
