Installed it and when I started it up, it froze after a few seconds .. will try it again later.

It's currently in Beta but one of the most stable dj software programs is bring introduced for Windows. This has been my software of choice for years and now the Windows user get to experience the ultra reliable, ultra fast, ultra feature loaded software!
Wow. I'll take one in each color!
Anything really specific you like/dislike about it? As an example, Mixvibes Cross DJ is excellent with one really glaring exception - when you select Autoplay, it immediately transitions to the next song. Try being a spontaneous DJ/MC with that!

As far as features, I didn't see much over PCDJ, Traktor, or Serato except for Spotify. As for reliability .. we'll have to wait, as I tried it twice more and it froze both times.

Reliability??? To some degree it depends on the reliability of the host platform. Having upgraded all my home computers to Windows 10 Professional, I'd have to say I don't find Windows 10 to be AS reliable as Windows 7. I had to revert to Windows 7 on one of my workstations because it just was not worth the effort to keep it on Windows 10.

I think I'll give Djay Pro a try as well.[emoji4]

I can't actually judge the reliability since it won't stay running for more than 20s. It's Beta, so I expect issues .. no issues on the same platform with the other apps.

Does the Beta have good logging and feedback mechanisms back to the developers so they can identify and resolve the bugs?

No idea.

5th time's a charm .. it's working now .. maybe it had to warm up or maybe it was traumatized by the inauguration. I like it ... can't say it's way different than the others. Automix seems easy.

I use the mac version, so I am not much help. The Mac version is ULTRA stable. Had video, transitions, effects... you name it.

I don't own a Windows computer. There was GREAT demand for a Windows version, so this is the start.

Is reliability still a selling feature for DJ software? I've only ever had one crash on me ant that was because of a hardware problem several years ago.

Thanks for the link Scott I'll be installing it on my Win 10 machines later

It is for me!!! I use Traktor Pro, and one of the reasons for it is it's VERY stable.

I use Mixmeister Pro 6 and I've used VDJ both for live performances and I've used Rockit, Mixx, Djay, at home, and I've tested Tractor, PCDJ, Serato and Mixvibes among many others. I found good and bad in all of them but the one thing I can't say is any were unreliable

I tried Mixx, with "mixxed" results.[emoji1] Pardon my pun, but I had some stability problems with it. But you know... most of the time you get what ya pay for.

I liked PCDJ but it was hardware intensive or else it would have issues.
I moved to VDJ8 and never looked back. twice i've had errant noise creep in..reboot and no issues. Suspect a driver update was needed or bug in an update. But never a freeze stutter or issue of any kind on a good win 7 and minimalist win 10 laptop. You can drag a song from anywhere into it and it just works.

Does everything I want..can't see trying something new unless there's some whizbang new feature that makes my workload less/easier/better.

I would certainly hope no one would depend on a new piece of software, especially a beta, in a live situation.

A key teller for me when trying something new out (on Windows 10) is enable Airplane Mode (bless you heroes who DJ from WiFi) and disable Windows Defender, the only virus protection on my laptops (also Cortana is always permanently disabled). Next, open Task Manager and in "View" click "always on top". Now I can try out the software.

This current beta release of Djay Pro for Windows seems rather resource hungry. For me, that is always a red flag.

Just for sheeets and giggles, enable Windows Defender (regardless of what DJ program you are in), and watch your disc drive usage.

Yeah, that's why it's a "beta".

Personally, I would NEVER EVER use a Windows based dj software but the demand for this was there so they went with it.

Funny, I feel exactly the same way about over-priced fruity products but to each their own. Does this so-called new entry into the Windows world of DJ-ing do Music Videos well? If not, next (call me in a decade when and if they ever catch up to what is more relevant today)....

PS: Not my intent to start another OS flame war as that ship has sailed too many times so don't worry, be happy....
