Here's my setup:
-Macbook Pro
-DJ IO sound card
-amp with technical pro speakers
-powered technical pro subwoofer
-Traktor LE software

I'm having a very difficult time getting both the speakers and subwoofer to play at the same time. I can get one to work but not the other. I've tried every combination of outputs in the traktor preferences and still cant get it to work. If anyone can help me, PLEASE reply back. This is really frustrating... Thanks in advance!!

The settings from Traktor WON"T separate the frequencies to play both main and subwoofer. You need to get an active Crossover such as this http://www.dbxpro.com/223XL/index.php Set it up so that the main output from your source goes to the crossover and the crossover will then send Hi and Mids to your amp to main speakers and bass/low notes to your powered subs. In place of a crossover and EQ you can get this instead http://www.dbxpro.com/PA+/ which will give you both and more.
 
Is there not a way to make it so that the subwoofer can be in place of the monitor speaker output? The DJ IO gives you 1 output for master speakers and 1 output for monitor speakers...so why cant a subwoofer be the output instead of monitor speakers? Is there another way of doing this besides buying a new piece of equipment?
 
The reason you can't do it that way is because the outputs don't divide frequencies, that's why you need the crossover. Some external mixers have sub outputs however the correct way to do it is using an active crossover as Houston mentioned.

I'll tell you why! A sub needs low frequencies. Sending any ole signal to a sub, unless it has an internal passive crossover, will only sound like a full range signal to it. Why can't you buy the equipment that is needed? Are you doing this as a business or Hobby?

Hey, I'm a hobbyist and have multiple active crossovers :D:D:D:D:D
 
Its a hobby for me...but I have quite a few gigs each week. Sorry to be a bother; I'm a college student and just now getting popular at school and in my hometown. With that, I am on a tight budget and swinging 200 dollars isn't really the option for me right now. Is there a cheaper crossover that I can use in order to do this? Thanks to both of you for your help..I'm definitely a newbie to the dj scene.
