I like these designs especially for those who use powered Speakers and don't require much components in the DJ Booth. I wish the span was greater to spread out the tops some more. http://www.trusskits.com/Djone-DJ-Stand-p/tka6-djo.htm
You had me in partial agreement up until you had an problem with the price. First, with a Facade (Lighted or otherwise) in the front it will make for a cleaner look than a Table top setup with speaker stands and Lighting T-Stands. You have to visualize things! Secondly, for as much Gigs as you claim to do, $1,600.00 should be a drop in the bucket as an investment. Third, it should take no longer to setup than a Table, 2 Speaker stands and 1 or more Lighting T-stands. Yep I know everything is not for everyone, to that I agree but the balance is just an excuse. I have seen pictures of similar setups in Elegant Wedding Venues and it looked great. The uprights can be covered and uplighted to give a nice effect. They're playing to DJs' egos. It'll be pain to setup, won't work (space-wise) in all configurations, and frankly would look pretty out of place in an elegant setting. School dances, sure. Weddings, this will cost you bookings in the long run. Not to mention, $1600 out of pocket.

Art, not saying I would use it but this setup can be dressed up to fit in with a Wedding Event. A Black or Lighted facade in front would hide the lower half from view. The trussing uprights can be covered with translucent fabric and lights placed inside. The top horizontal part with lights attached would be a much cleaner look than Lighting Stands and Speaker stands. It can be more symmetrical. One word describes how I would perceive that setup at a wedding -- TACKY!!
Agree, it could be "dressed" up to make it more presentable. One word describes how I would perceive that setup at a wedding -- TACKY!!

Mike, there is more to life than Weddings as I have always stated. Buying this would NOT be mainly for Weddings, however, to get more mileage out of the setup, IF one is doing a Wedding, it can be dressed up by placing a Facade in front of it. No matter how it is used, it would still give a cleaner look than two speaker stands and a lighting Tree. Why would you spend 1600 bucks for this,
and then cover it up with a facade?
Might as well just use a table and speaker stands.
1. But you were thinking it, I know! LOL. 2. I quoted in my first post "I wish the span was greater to spread out the tops some more." If one is going to use that small of a span then it is better to have the speakers in front of you so it does not blast you and cause hearing loss.1- I never said anything about weddings.
2- At 8-feet wide, I think it would fall under "headphones" in someone's view.
