Darius Rucker with Hootie or Darius as a solo country artist?

He's doing much better solo than he ever could have with Hootie.

With Hootie, he was limited to the teeny bopper and tween audiences. They released one very popular album but the second was a major flop. Rucker is a talented vocalist and I believe his move to the Country genre was a good choice.
 
Man that is a tough one....some of the stuff he did with Hootie that was not actually released (in other words, the 9 songs from every disc that no one listens too) is very good.....but the same can be said about his solo stuff too.....I think just because I have seen him in concert with Hootie, I would have to go with that.
 
I loved Hootie and was mad that they broke up
and I haven't listened to any of his solo stuff, although I have heard good things.

so I guess I'm jaded, but I like him WITH Hootie
 
Rick Ryan the solid Gold singles he has released apparently were got by thousands of the masses.
 
I liked him with hootie but I prefer him as a country artist
 
I'm preferring his solo work a bit over the band effort. Although I thought the band had some promise in spite of their sophomore release.
 
Both ways are good. There were some stellar moments as Hootie....example:
