Deep Whois is a good free tool for webmasters. As you guessed you can look up whois information, do traceroutes, and the like. Good to have when you get a text that one of your sites is unreachable.
The GoDaddy app is good for domain addicts like me, though I've buried it in a folder. Domains get expensive after a while.
Bank Of America has a really nice app as does PayPal.
By far the coolest app on iOS is the built-in Safari. It's the best mobile browser I've come across.
