I am looking to simplify my ceremony setup. I was wondering if everyone could post what they use or maybe some pics too. I want to go small. I started off getting the American Audio ELS GO 8BT for a speaker. I know I can run a mic into the back of it and run ceremony music with Bluetooth, but the Bluetooth still makes me a bit nervous. I still think i want a small mixer type device to connect to it. What are you using?

just to ease your concern I used a couple of the American Audio ELS GO 8BT this weekend at a community festival for a bunch of different stuff, walk uo music for the batters at a youth softball tournament I was probably 20ft away from the speaker ran it bluetooth via my iphone, with wireless mic for a magician, on a couple of parade floats bluetooth music with wired mics, back ground music for a concessions stand, it performed flawlessly at every task it was given, is it the best sounding speaker in the world no but it work great for many applications, I have used it for ceremonies several times and it has never failed me
yamaha stagepas 600, 400 would probably work as well. VDJ on a laptop and ttheir remote software on an ipad so all my gear can be up front.
been running one mic, now i have a GTD w/ lavalier so I can run 2. Haven't yet, but it's in the plan. I have a small camping table I set it all up on and have a cloth to throw over it all - to keep it from baking in the sun.
I can control the music (VDJ from teh remote, so the mics are 'live' unless the officiant mutes his..may have to adjust this plan if the groom is live...

I usually only use one for ceremonies however I try to have two of everything in case a back up is needed, I may actually buy more of these the are super handy to have around
I used mine for the first time this weekend as a cocktail hour speaker in a hotel lobby. Again, since I was wary on the Bluetooth, I made a list and put it on a thumb drive. It worked great. So easy to setup and walk away from. Almost forgot it was there at the end. And it was still playing in loop.

Can put it almost anywhere .. including behind a speaker, connect 4 mics to it, a USB stick to play music from and control it all remotely on an iPad. It's small .. 4"x13"x6" deep and at $250, if it works well (still need to wring it out) .. might be a winner.
I don't know what he was using, at the festival I was at the main stage had several local/ regional band the sound company there was controlling everything wirelessly his trailer was parked behind the stage with the amps and processing in it he stood out front with a tablet. it was pretty cool,I bought a Behringer X-Air XR12, which might be a cool reception or small event control. So many devices do it now .. almost a requirement for a digital pro audio system. Now it's coming down to DJ pricing levels.
How would I control what songs to play from it? Haven't tried it .. can always hookup a laptop and control that remotely with iTunes Remote .. which works great.
Just tried playing music thru the Behringer. You need to put .wav files on the USB stick, but you get a list of songs on the USB page of the UI on the iPad, can select any of them, and have start/stop/pause controls .. plus volume/bal/aux sends/etc. Works pretty cool. Wouldn't want to perform with it, but great for a few songs. It doesn't auto advance songs, unless you create a single wav file with multiple songs within. But it's pretty fast to select a second song, etc.
This year I'm using the new Denon Envoi speaker. For a 10" powered speaker, it has quite a bit of oomph. The bluetooth feature is nice, but I don't have a need for it. The features I like the most (besides the built-in battery) are the SD card reader and built-in wireless microphone. The microphone is perfect for ceremony readers, and the mixer panel on the back has a few more input options available, so I can run my Sennheiser wireless lapel mic system into it as well.
It's pricey compared to some of the no-name variations of battery-powered speakers, but it's a workhorse.

I like it .. would buy it immediately if it didn't have the open horn design and lost the little wheels. If I was looking for a better ceremony system, I'd probably go this route. We have the compacts already so no need to buy new stuff. Compacts are $1000. We do get a lot of use from the compacts, but I could see these working fine. At $599, not bad. I could see the sd card coming in handy for cocktail hour.
