Weddings Bridal Packets are not my cup of tea!

I think "less is more" is a good idea for bridal packets
considering how many "packets" a client gets at a bridal show
it's tough to make YOUR packet seem different.
I like the DVD idea, cause it's all included in ONE item.
just not sure if b/g's are gonna run home and pop it in the DVD player.
but if they do, I'm sure it would work better than brochures and business cards

Ditto. I think the ratio of how many brides will watch it is very slim, and the "CD business cards" are so 90s. They didn't work then. I doubt they will work in 2010.

First impression is everything. What type of clients are you after?
The upscale brides avoid the cheesy DJs wearing loud vests & have crazy lights.
There are some brides that want that too.

You gotta be able to impress them at the show, get their info & set up a meeting with them later.

We do at least one bridal show a year - and for us, it's this Sunday.

Here is our marketing approach:

Step #1
Everyone who approaches gets a business card & a brochure.

There are some pens that we have laid out on the table. You want one? Take it.

Step #2
If you are looking for a DJ, or interested in up-lighting, or a monogram, we ask you to fill out a card & we have a 1-page sheet listing some of our Wedding entertainment benefits.

Still interested?

Step #3
Talking to the b2b, if we are available & you are REALLY interested & looking for Entertainment services, we will offer a Wedding Welcome Packet.

The packet is a folder (which, I'll admit isn't a custom printed piece as they would cost at least $1000 - from what we've seen). But we found a nice entertainment folder with Breakthrough Marketing (Tom Quiner's company). We can buy 100 for around $55-75....

Inside the packet contains:

A business card-sized magnet
A welcome letter that is hand-signed - not a re-print. :)
An updated 1-page list of references - All have been checked to see if they can still be used for this list.
A 1-page FAQ sheet
Finally, a 1-page "Ala Carte" Options/upgrades that are available with pricing information.

That's it.

If you want to sit down & meet to discuss your day further...when are you available to talk?

Cheers,

Joe

Thats a great idea! This is very feasible. I like this very much!

The thinking is we take a "funnel" approach to pre-qualify who may be our client.

For this show, which will usually bring 100-125 brides, I have plenty of cards & brochures for everyone.

Then - a 75% for the basic info sheet.... So about 75-80 1-page handouts

Final step - Between 40-50 packets that we put together (Wishful thinking, I know....:) )
