It's OK, you can still hate it all you want
Doubt or disbelief does not equal hate. I don't believe in the Easter Bunny, but I don't hate him!

There is a difference between owning a system and actually using a system. I'm sure if I owned a system, but never used it, and never missed an opportunity to talk down about it, I wouldn't get many people requesting it either.
I use it every time it is appropriate and I have used it 4xs in the very recent past. Three Civil Wedding Ceremonies and for a remote zone outside the main room.

I'm sorry you don't believe it happens. You can try to twist it any way you'd like.
"C'mon, Baby, Let's do the Twist!"

Of course, talent comes first. No one is going to request a hack dj just because of his gear. No one has suggested otherwise except you. But all you need to do is ask just about ANYONE who USES this system on a regular basis, and you'll hear a very similar thing.
Not a logical retort. No one has suggested the term "hack" except you.

Does it really make sense that all of us are just making this up?
Do you have any idea how long alleged wise men believed the Earth was flat?

Before this goes any further, this is not a put down of anyone else's system. Lots of great systems out there. Someone just simply requested one type of system and you find it impossible....just because it's never happened to you.
Again, no one was putting down the subject system.

Regardless, the never ending claims of "hired because of," which clearly suggests primacy, "Everyone compliments," ridiculously overbroad, and/or "was the deciding factor," suggesting talent was not primary, belie logic.

YMMV, and apparently does.

That's about as closed minded as you can get.
Closed minded...honkey please!

It's like saying.......I don't think baseball players get $15 million dollars to play baseball. No one has ever offered me 15 million to play. Therefore, it has not happened. Even though i've heard from multiple sources that it happens, i'm not believing it....and i'm going to let everyone know I don't believe it.

None of this means anyone is better than anyone else because of the equipment they use. It's just a sound system, for gosh sakes. But some people cannot help posting something negative when someone mentions the name.

So, what you are suggesting...is someone posted some fake request about needing a system in LA. Then, someone from Cleveland, just to keep the hoax going...made up a story to back it up. Possible, I guess.

Just what are you guys smoking down there?
Convolution at its best.

Scott,

Your reaction to the non-positive comments and doubting posters, is simply more evidence of the illogical component herein.

From what I can tell from what have read and heard, I suspect your service is very professional and your talents are admirable.

What I, and others that prefer/elect to not discuss it in a thread, have an issue with is the exaggerated level of deference that the subject gear is given by, mainly, those that are invested in the brand.

sorry, but I would never ever let a client dictate what equipment I used.

Patrick, aren't you primarily working with bands? Aren't bands FAMOUS for their specific equipment requests? If you don't meet the band's rider, you don't get the work.

full time DJ now Steve.

But to answer your question, yes, FAMOUS bands are notorious for mile long riders, but the bands I worked with could not afford to be that way. They showed up and played, period. Be is on a 2 speaker Carvin 80 watt system or a $100,000 pre installed system, every band played where they were booked.

Who ever said, "everyone compliments? perfect example of a complete exxaggeration

my reaction was simply to let anyone reading it that your statement that its ridiculous for a client to request a type of equipment is simply false. That and all the negative stuff you've mentioned about it over the years. You know, the stuff that's gotten you kicked off of most boards

Thank you. I'm sure yours is as well.

You not electing to discuss it? honky, double please:)

It may actually be how I'm selling our service too. EVERY time i do an event, that's the system people see.

When I meet with a couple and I show them pictures of set ups, they always see those, and I do share with them what others have said about the system, so that certainly may be why people are requesting them or wanting it written in their agreement. 2 of my DJs use different equipment. They prefer their equipment over mine, which is fine with me. I do show couples pics of their set ups as well, which I believe is very professional looking and great sounding.

And it's certainly not everybody that's wanting it written in.

Just thought I'd clarify.

Update: looks like I'm renting my system this coming Monday. A corporate client asked for them, and is paying additionally to have them. I don't know many more details, nor all of the numbers involved, but I'm making a nice little check for a Monday evening rental.

It went great! This week has been a very busy one for me, sorry I didn't update sooner. Thanks for connecting me with your friends who needed the Bose!

If they ever need them again, I'd be happy to do it again.

See boy's?? All that bickering for nothing...

Equipment needed, Equipment found. Someone made EASY money....All is good!:triwink:
