Chuck -- first, have a couple of Mai'Tai's that should warm you up
then--get back to paradise as fast as you can----Winter is approaching here!

Safe travels to you Chuck. It's 27 here, how warm (or cold) is it in DC?

I am VERY happy that you are loving them. As the old saying goes, "I love it when a plan comes together". It's one of the highlights of my job, playing "matchmaker" for people and equipment.

The highlight of my trip, though, was meeting you and your wife... even if you hadn't bought anything. It's just about all my wife has talked about since then. I guess we'll have to come back. LOL.

Ben

okay,,, I'm at the airport in Washington DC,,, frick it's cold here!

Anyway, a quick note ,,, I used them at my event on Friday night,,, Big room at The Hyatt for about 300 peeps... I played cocktail/dinner and then Game Show Mania!

I was EXTREMLY pleased at how they sounded during the awards. The vocals were very clear at the back of the room, which one time I did 1000 peeps in, so it's big...

Very nice, smooth and the vocals sounded natural even in back...

But I didn't do dance so at the end, after everyone had left we played "Outcast- The Way You Move"..... ummmmmm,, yeah!!!!!! these suckers have amazing bass for a full range cabinet!.. That first low note, ya'll know it... BAMM!

My buddy DJ SkinnyGuy came with me as my second and he own the JBL's..... he was like,,, f*%k you!!! LOL

I can't wait to give them a better work out when I get back to our rock in the middle of the ocean. I have an event on the 25th at The Ritz-Carlton that should give them a pretty good work out...

But ya Ben,,, ummm,,, I owe ya!!! Oh wait I DO owe ya. I fropped a check in the mail on Sat.

Yes Ben get back,,, you two should still get over to the "real" side of Maui!
It was snowing as I drove this afternoon outside of Pittsburg

Steve... I am told the bartender at the hotel knows how to make Mai Tais,,,, we'll see...

Marco.... just visiting the Mainland, no worries, I aint staying here in the cold crap very long! LOL :)

Two different speakers and that means two different options....

I will use each set for the approitate event.

If I have a short load in time,,, EVs.... I may use the EVs as my outside speaker...

If I get a teen or event that wants a clubby feel, I'll borrow some subs,, and use the EVs

I'll use the BOSE for everything else...

I had heard from others that the Bose is an easier/faster setup.
I take it that it isn't?

Does room size / or amount of guests play a role in which speaker is better than the other?

I have heard the EV's can handle themselves without a sub very well. I would think that the EV's would push more volume than the Bose. I haven't heard either speaker in person but from what I have read this would hold true. Correct me if I am wrong Chuck, after all you actually own both speakers. I am Envy.:sqwink:

young...

Bill, I haven't drank the BOSE kool-aid... if someone they are telling you they are faster to set up than a speaker on a stick, they are just plain wrong.

They are lighter and easier because the pieces don't weigh as much, but plopping two speakers on a stick is a lot faster than putting the system together.

Young, as I have said, I have so far only used the EV's once, but yes they have an amazing amout of bass and can do it all alone if they are all you have... however,,,, at a school dance or an event where they want a "Club" feel, IMHO you have to have that annoying bass bump that you can only get, IMHO with seperate bass bins.

But this goes back to a post I made awhile ago,,,, if you have more, more speakers or whatever, do you bring more in?

If you only own the EVs then you bring those in, if you only have the BOSE, or whatever that's what you bring in.

IF however that you have multi - options, you can pick and chooose what system you want to bring in.

ANY system "WILL WORK" for any gig,,, will it be the best way? That is the question.
