I HIGHLY disagree it is always about flow. I mix country into rap into disco but never DROP the tempo always increase the tempo. This is a key elelment of many very succesful DJ's out there.

You should always build energy on the dance floor.

What you say might be true, but even MORE true is that these two songs just don't belong playing next to each other, regardless of BPM. At the VERY LEAST you need some DJ intervention between them....

Maybe at bubble parties but a skilled DJ with a crossfader who knows how to mix and and use his pitch bend and tempo sliders can mix almost anything. Song choice is of course the most important element of keeping the floor packed but tempo is almost as important you will kill your dance floor. Also train wreck mixes will kill your dance floor. I have learned in DJing over 700 weddings is that if you can mix and know music you can mix genres no problem. Out of Love Shack you need to be in the 132-138 BPM zone to keep the energy up.

Hey, nice slap.

BTW, I have 300+ non bubble party events under my belt as well. But since you ARE the best DJ in Florida, I'll defer.

I'm a slam mixer kind of guy...even when I used to beat mix in the clubs...It's all about hitting the "post" - for us radio guys it was the vocals...For me know, it's the energy...Bon Jovi - Livin on a prayer....stuck in the middle with You...they all have that "post"
