Ever since I went to my Facade, I have a hard time getting rid of tables. Despite the site visit, and sending e-mail to the facility contact to specifically request NO TABLE. I think the ballroom captains are just going on muscle memory. No harm...but I have taken to just moving the table to the middle of the dance floor and then it is up to the venue to remove it.
 
I use the 4" from IDJNOW and it's $39.95 per roll.
Of course, it is the goods stuff, but from what i am reading, most of you guys are getting it for a lot less.

The stuff my local GC sells is not the real stuff, it looks like it, but it sticks to everything.
The $40 tape is the real deal. I will check ULINE , sounds like a significant savings.

I stopped using tape of any sort years ago.

I now use floormats. rubber tipped ones, or a dark gray black carpet blend. The ycover all cables. It's a lot neater looking.
 
I would have asked if was okay if I buy a roll for $20. In most cases DJ's will gladly sell you a roll or tell you not to worry about the money.
 
Helping someone out is not a bad thing. This guy took advantage of your generousity. Chalk it up to experience, but remember not everyone is a "user."
