You can control non-DMX lights in one of two ways. Either make them DMX lights (some cool mods can be found on this board actually), or turn them on and off with a DMX controlled relay pack. Most DMX dimmers (DMX-4) have a relay mode on them for this purpose. DMX is a universal control language, with lots of fixtures out there to choose from. Doug Fleenor even makes a DMX controlled coffee pot.
