I ordered a facade from Idjnow over a week ago and have not received it. It says it takes 4-5 days to be shipped to me. It has passed that time! I've been calling them and they keep telling me that they had to order it directly from Odysey and they need to contact them to find out what is going on. Then they tell me they will call me back and never do.

I'm pissed off. I just want the item I paid for. I'm going to call them again later today and see what the hold up is with me getting my item. I think I'll just cancel my order and never mess with them again. Just pray for me to be a professional over the phone!

Has anybody had such an experience with Idjnow?

I just called them up to find out that it's actually on back order for April. I just told them to put my money back in my account. I can't wait that long. That's crazy. Why the hell didn't the tell me this before when I called? I won't mess with them again! Real sad.

You always need to ask the vendor if they have it "in stock" in their own local inventory or "in stock" in a "warehouse" which will drop ship it to you. Caveat emptor! (Google that if you don't know what it means....)
Thanks. I'll remember that from now on but they won't have to worry about me ever buying shvt from them again. I don't give a damn how good the price is.

I deal with them almost on a daily basis. I have never had anything drop shipped to me from them. They do have a huge warehouse of gear. I feel that you had a bad experience with them that is not normal at all. I am local to their babylon shop and I am there at least twice a week. All great guys including the owners and managers. I would not write them off totally. Like stated above if you have a time constraint then you definatly should have asked if they had it in stock, on the other hand it should never have been offered to you to be at your door in 5 days also. My guess with the situation is that odyssee showed it in stock and then once the order was was placed they actually didn't have any in stock. That is almost where I would place blame.

The item is listed on their site and if it wasn't in stock it should have said so online!

You also could have clicked the check availability button and they say usually ships in 3-5 days. And when you click check availability it prompts you to a contact stores for availability. I am not defending them but it gives every chance online to see the items actual status.

I love how people continue to purchase from the unknown. Familiarity for a web site and the fancy ads do nothing even at the best price. Much like prospective clients. We sell much the same thing as any other DJ but what factors in to gain successful purchase on either count.
1. Do you feel comfortable with the person and their approach?
2 Does the price fit somewhere into your budget ( not a cheap versus cheap war)?
3. Customer Service
4.Approachability and sincerity.
5. Product knowledge.

I have mentioned NLFX Pro, Ben and gang not only because they have sponsored and supported this great site for several yrs now but also cause they are stellar in the five things I listed above and much more.

Why not atleast give them a call when looking for someone if nothing more than out of respect for supporting this forum where you can ask questions about suppliers etc.

I live in East Orange, NJ and wanted to know if anybody knows a place I can get a facade with a built in table top asap? I would like to get one tomorrow.

First, shipping times are typically quoted in business days and do not include weekends. They also do not include processing times, so 4-5 days might actually be 7-9 days, so as mentioned, call if you are time crunched. I agree the web site should state that. It's probably too late to call Ben if you need it tomorrow.

You can try a local Sam Ash or Guitar Center. There is also a DJ supply house in NJ with a store or 2 called kpodj (never used them so can't comment) : http://www.kpodj.com/contact/.

Wow... the only thing I think that hasn't been covered is... with the So Called "Web Availability" is that lots of times this is not real time information.... it may lag by days... plus with improper inventory controls it may not be accurate at all... as stated above, ask them directly if it truely is available.

I do have a question... did they actually charge your before shipping was confirmed?

Most company's, like NLFXPro, don't charge your card until shipping is confirmed.

Where can i find a DJ facade with a built in table top? I live in East Orange, NJ and looking for one that does not have carpet to it as carpet attracts lint dirt and other things that can make it look bad. I want to just be able to go there and pick it up.

I left some options above.

KPODJ doesn't have what I'm looking for. There's a nice one I saw was made by Marathon but J & R was sold out. Anybody know where I can get the Marathon facade with the built in table top? It was much bigger then the one I ordered. I know it will hold the controller, Hard drive and the Pioneer EFX 500.

I certainly liked that facade. Especially since it's not made with carpet.
