Class Act as always. Who did the video editing? It was dead on. High impact and energy. Kudos Val and Steve you folks provide the hottest of HOT!!!
 
I agree with Jon.....

However......Having worked a few shows with Square One, That video would be REALLY awsome, playing on the 2 jumbo trons with the WHOLE gym shakin'!!!!!

Folks....You gotta see,and feel to believe......

Steve does all of our video editing. I tell him what I'm looking for and he puts something together. I never quite know what I'm going to get back till it's in my hands! Lol He is quite handy with Adobe Premiere Elements.
 
Val, what's your secret for getting all of those light fixtures on the truss in a reasonable amount of time? Is the truss pre-rigged with the lights? Do you have some sort of custom cable that drops all the right connections in all the right spots? I can't imagine having to run power and signal to all those fixtures!

We do have much of the truss prewired, with custom cable drops off the 3 sections to run back to the dimmers/distro/control. Takes about 3 1/2 hours to set up once we're loaded in; about 35-60 mins load in depending on distance.

We also have road cases for everything, and take directly from the box to the truss; no moving things twice. Clamps are attached, and we know exactly where everything goes in order to fit. We've spent a lot of time on mounting brackets, etc so things are as efficient as possible setting up and tearing down.
 
Alot of production companies have PRT's (Pre Ran Truss) as they are called. They really help get your show assembled quickly. usually they put the par cans in the correct order before going, they have a stored position and have wheels on them sometimes for easy carting. Also, some feature Sacapex connections so its easy to wire together. I personally love PRT's!

Yeah, there are small banquet halls here, but we don't fit in most of 'em! lol Our system is just over 65' wide. Most of the school dances near here (within 3-400 miles) have their events in the gym or fieldhouse. When you get beyond that distance, you start seeing more schools having them offsite; especially formals.

Since we don't have a 'small' system, well we do but I get made fun of when I call it the little stereo, we don't see much of small venues. They are typically wedding sites anyway, and we don't market weddings.
 
I know this is old, but prewired truss is the way to go if your lights always hang in the same place. That is how we did it out on the road (of course our stuff was flown and not ground supported so about 1/3 of the way through the tour you would end up having to cut cable ties and squeeze every spare inch of cable to make runs sometimes). But it is the way to go 100%.
