Alto (Numark) Professional Black Series Speakers

I was told by a salesman they were made in England. Either way they aren't the best speakers ever made. Like I said too bad everyone starting out doesn't have 5k-15k to spend on gear. What I did in the beginning was buy cheap gear and figure why spend the extra money on the other stuff. I had to learn the difference from making such mistakes.

Costly lessons. What I learned is buy once and be done. Lately I moved on to other gear because I wanted to go in a different direction. The stuff I had was great though.

Once again to my question. Are you happy with the gear you have and what do your clients think after you finished a gig? Those 2 things count the most. How feel isn't really all that important. I've seen some using mediocre gear and rock a gig. While I've seen others using top of the line gear and sucked.
 
Nobody has heard the Alto Black Series speaker in a live (karaoke/DJ) setting because they are not available for purchase yet. So lets stop talking about other lines by Alto. It's causing confusion. Save that for another thread.
 
I went to Guitar Center today to check them out. They are a listed Alto dealer. They don't carry these, but they can order them. The guy who was helping me didn't sound too enthusiastic about them tho.... but maybe that is because it is hard to sell, what you don't have. That said, he said I could have a pair shipped in, and try them out, and if I didn't like them I would get a 100% refund. But since this was just a trip to hear, and not buy, I passed.
 
Probably sound just as bad as the GC store brand, "Harbinger".

Ya know what......I have some old JBL SR series.....some of these go back 20 years or more. A passive 3 way comes to mind....the SR4735. The only thing I did to these was update the crossover to the "A" version. When I want a 3 way passive, these are just soooooo smooth and clean......... There's decent used ones all over the place. This is an better speaker by 10X than the Altos would/could ever be. I love all the Craigslist folks that sell off their old JBL's for "modern" stuff. I laugh last, and I laugh best!

What's a the point of WIRELESS speakers....that are POWERED?

If you gotta run ONE cord, you may as well run TWO!

In a large room, it sometimes helps to put an additional set of speakers on the opposite wall for everyone to be able to hear toasts, etc. Usually there is AC power nearby, but using a wireless setup to transmit the audio will save you from running 200' of XLR around untold entryways.

So you don't have to run 100-200 feet of speaker cable. Just find an outlet next to where you want to setup and away you go.
