After A Show, What Do You Do?

Actually (notwithstanding aforementioned joint), I've always been pretty flexible. If they need me out in a hurry, fine -- if not, have a couple beers, and take my time. No biggie -- only going back to the cave anyway...

It really depends on the guests.....

If they are promptly out, I haul ass and get r done!
If not, I kind of pace myself to time it so I am loading just as the last is out.

Maybe its just me but after packing in several hundred pounds of equipment, work my tail off 5-6 hours come quitin time, I am ready to split!

So, fire up a fatty and listen to Marley in the parking lot.

For me it all depends on the venue.... if they aren't rushed or are ok with me shutting the door behind me I'll take my time and pack right.... if they are are on the clock so to speak I will pack as fast as I can but, will still pack properly. I tell all venues I'll need a minimum of 1 to 1.5 hours depending on what I had to setup in the first place.

After I'm out though I usually hit some 24/7 resturant for some grub as a way to wind down.

For weddings: I can't remember who wrote it or what board it was from, but I took a bit of advise from someone about not starting to pack up immediately, but rather just hang out at the console for a few minutes as the guests and client were making their way out the door. I've found that many more people are stopping by and talking with me more, giving compliments and asking for cards. After that, it only takes my son and I about 15 minutes to have everything packed up (nice & neat) and be pushing things out the door.

For School Events: Usually start packing up and out the door in 15 minutes.

I've been doing that too... lots of times I'll walk around and thank people for coming too.
