ADJA Summer Conference & Show!

To many ads? Support ODJT and see no ads!
The intent is to give DJs at all levels the opportunity to hear from the best & the brightest, and bring our industry closer together under the ADJA.

That's a great idea, but one that has already been achieved by "Big Dan" and this forum. The best and brightest are here 24/7 for free.

However, it was nice of you contribute. Come by more often.
(that post count of yours needs a boost)

:sqwink:

Hey, at least there's one female in there now. Ah...the Basics of Photoshop. From the description, it sounds as though she's going to teach how to use some of the more popular features of the program, so DJs can use it for marketing. Between that and the sales, that's all good for advertising, I suppose, but they're missing one key aspect. If a DJ is going to create their own marketing materials, they need to learn some of the basics of document design. There's also spelling and grammar. I've found countless mispelling and awkward usage on numerous websites.

Hey, maybe I should run a seminar on all this!

If I were to go to the show the one person I'd be there to see is Big Daddy. Sean is great guy. Most of the others are DJA groupies. In fact Mitch, with a whopping 8 posts here and asking every so nicely to come and boost his ego, sits at the right hand of the Farrell. It's nice to see some people beg.

No, that's the expected outcome. The intent is to boost the numbers of the ADJA and it's profits. If this wasn't just a DJ wedding show then that goal might get a bit closer.

Ron, if I submit a conference seminar to present, does that mean that I have to be selling something, too? I'm talking about editing services or thousand dollar seminars on document design. Maybe I could write a book and sell that there. ADJA membership would sure be a small price to pay if I could do a seminar and sell stuff like that. :sqlaugh:

Ducky,
With the amount of time you spend here on this forum, the place where the true best and brightest hang, I would certainly be interested. Just don't call it a movement or serve Koolaid for refreshments.:sqwink:

Can we serve Sunny D instead?

I think DJ Ducky should absolutely run a seminar on that topic. It would be great information to be shared. And no, I'm not selling anything at my seminar. It's included as well as several others, in your two and a half day pass price at the unheard of before convention price of $49. I still can't believe how cheap that is! No begging Ron...just wanted to share freely. I know you have nothing against free.

Well, then sign me up. If it's too late this year, put me down for next year. I've drawn enough interest through these forums with being a 2nd-generation DJ and all. I'd like to put my Purdue degree to good use, too!

Poor grammar and numerous misspellings on web and print documents can throw negative marks upon a DJ's credibility. Great grammar and perfect spelling help to add to that professional appeal to one's service. I can teach people some tricks to editing their work. I can also show how great document design and consistency in branding add polish to marketing materials.

The only trick is how to pack all this information into 90 minutes.

DJ Ducky,

I'm not sure if there is still space available for this year's lineup or not. There may be. I would call Dr. Drax at the ADJA at 888-723-5776. I believe you would have to submit an outline of your presentation first for review. Thank you for considering it. It's always good to learn from your peers.

Not at all. Heck if it helps build up the ADJA membership then why not? I'm mean who gets the profits out of that one. Hows the free workshops that Ferrell and Merry are doing? I know they love providing their wealth of information for free. Well, I'm mean if you wish to donate to Ferrell's legal fund it's not that free. How are the boys, do tell them I said hey! After all, you are a lifetime member at DJA aren't you?

Oh Mitch, you forgot to display your WED logo in your signature or name title. I've seen it on other boards so I'm sure it's just something you've over looked.

Anyone here on this board presenting at the ADJA summer show?

Time to correct falsehoods again.

Ron, the title of WED is in the About Me of my profile here. Since you and a couple others recently viewed it, I'm sure you saw it.

Last I checked, I'm a member here and I'm presenting in Chicago at the ADJA show. In fact, I was a member here before that transpired.

No, not a lifetime member of DJA...but I am a member. So are others that are ODJT members. What's wrong with that? As Big Dan said, can't we all just get along?

Mitch,
My apologies, you are correct. This is not like those other sites that you frequent. You are a member here just like the rest. I hope you would stick around and bring up your post count to a higher number even after your summer show. I did not mean to insinuate that you were only using this board to advertise your speaking engagements. I'm sure once you've joined in on a few discussions you'll find this a nice place to hang out.

Ron,

Apology accepted. I was performing weddings Friday and Saturday night this past weekend so I was a little busy. I'll try to get by and contribute a little more here in my "free time"....with 8 events this month as a solo op I'm pretty busy. Thanks again.

Ron, why don't you give it a rest? You've made your opinions abundantly clear. You're being redundant. Stop bashing. It doesn't make ODJT look good or professional, it makes us look unprofessional. You think you're being funny and witty, but that lasted about 5 seconds and now your attacks are old and tired and repetitive.

At this point we all know who you don't like, who you don't respect etc. Why try to prevent DJ industry representatives who come here trying to develop a professional relationship with the people here from freely participating? If Dan and Fred want to limit certain individuals or organizations from promoting their functions or association then let them do it. We don't need you to be our spokesperson, we don't need you to think for us or choose for us. Don't go to the convention, don't join the association, but stop bashing them, it's unprofessional.

What the hell are you talking about. This has nothing to do with you so why jump in? I made my apologies and they were excepted. But that's not good enough for you? Now who's making this place look unprofessional. So stay out of what doesn't concern you. This has been dealt with on a level you can't understand. Now, are you finished?
