Added guest book to my site

Hi all, I haven't been around much lately. Only to put my football pick in. Busy with other things.

I was dinking with my site and saw the guest book option and thought I would add it to my site.

I joined facebook and added a lot of my former brides and grooms as friends and told them about my guest book. A few have went in and added comments. Kind of nice to have that on there.

So far, no bad comments. Hopefully there won't be.

Just thought I would let you guys know about it. Maybe some could use the idea for themselves.

I don't think so. I am not too worried. I check my site out "All the time" and if there is something that is not true, I can delete it. If I did something and they put it on there, I will probably leave it and just fess up to it. Honesty has always worked for me. I have only screwed up once that I know of where someone complained. and I admitted to it and other than the one screw up, they said everything else was perfect.

Not too worried about it.
 
My concern is different from Ruben's.....it has to do with credibility of on-site testimonials.

Off-site has higher credibility (from a marketing standpoint) because the vendor cannot "pick and choose" which kudos get displayed.

that's why I get them to go to (pick a site- one that's highly regarded in your area) and write their reviews at a Neutral Site.

Guest books are fine, but don't put all your eggs in one basket. Use wedding wire, yelp, city search, City Voter, or whatever is popular in your market.
 
Not that I don't agree with you Matt, just here in Rural Minnesota, there isn't something like that. At least the majority of my couples are from rural areas.

I would need to use Minneapolis and St Paul as the Network on these things and I don't get couples from there too often. Even my facebook network is 70 miles away.
 
I guess I will just say "See above". I should add that Minneapolis is 130 miles away so again, nothing like that around. Even Craigslist has no local network here.

Cheese is an opinion. I guess ours differ.
 
Karl, I had no idea you were so far outside of Minneapolis metro.

The only other suggestion I'd make is that you should consider changing from a guest book format to a blog script. (Blogs are better for search engines)
