It's a Numark Total Control in drag (ION and Numark, are one in the same).

Not that it's bad per se (they do work) -- but the controls have no "feel" whatsoever. The sliders and cross fader have no friction.

The wheels aren't bad, but I doubt you would use them much...

The ION version (being the lower end brand), omits some of the controls of its big brother.


I'd look elsewhere, IMHO...

Yes i do agree with both of you. Initially when i was using my mk2 i used to think that this is enough for a gig..later after a year went by..i decided to get an external mixer and boy! now i dont even practice at home without my hands on the ext mixer. In fact i use the mk2 only for cueing or playing or use the FX .. the rest is on the ext mixer. Its now i realise how good it would feel to have a 'hands on' feel while spinnin live!

Honestly Joe, it all comes down to how "hands on" you are, and how much you want to spend...

A decent quality controller (non-plastic crap), is gonna set ya back $350 or better. So, you have to decide if spending that much, is worth having a lighted up Play button

Most of the good controllers, are matched to a particular piece of software, in order to get scratching effects, etc. If not, it's just buttons, knobs and sliders.

I can generally move faster with a decent keyboard, mapped to shortcuts in the software -- YMMV...
