I'm not ending up any where. I was just talking about how to build up to a succesful promoter for such events. I never said I was doing these things. I do have friends of mine that are doing this. I did forget to mention about the security issue. But on here isn't that something that most on here feel you don't need to have? Also where do you come up with the ideas of having to pay the BMI fees and such. My friends who have these parties have never had to pay such a thing that I've ever heard of.

The big thing is in the beginning not to think too big in planning to do this. Easy does it!

It doesn't matter how big it is -- it is still YOUR responsibility as a promoter.

Just because your thug buddies don't pay the piper, doesn't mean you have to take the same route...

Just because they never have paid it doesn't mean they don't have to pay it. You can speed all day long and not get caught. BMI, ASCAP, etc will want their monies for public venues like clubs and bars. Generally, the owner pays this but if the owner does not, they may come after you to pay it.

UPDATE!
Just found out the original teen events party had only a handful of people attending.

I am not surprised.
Sweet 16's, Mitzvahs, and other teen events don't seem to be a big money-spending venture around here.
