Vocal too twangy, not the right beat, I miss all the juicy "make me so horny" stuff. I'll give it a 4.

Joe Nichols is ok - I like a bunch of his songs. My favorite Country male artist for awhile has been Billy Currington.

I've worked a number of shows that Joe was on. The guy is a fantastic singer. I have to be honest, that version was pretty lame.

I agree. Joe does typically do better. It might have been done that way just to do it. I think it was a 'let's have a little fun' thing - and they all probably knew it would be discussed.

On a separate note, some of you might be surprised how many people miss the twang.

Strait, Conway, George Jones, Merle Haggard and Alan Jackson had/have it - as well as tons of others. Marty Stuart kinda had it. Modern Country - some of the ones that can twang are Mo Pitney, Jeff Bates, Tony Jackson (and others).

Neal McCoy can twang too - but really, he can play and sing anything. I will say - if any of you have never seen him, you really should go. He puts on such a good show. In my opinion, he should get Entertainer Of The Year, EVERY year. He supports our troops and performs for them all the time. He also does a daily Pledge Of Allegiance live, every morning, on the Internet.

My Country tastes run very narrow ... maybe because current 'Bro Country overdoes the twang .... I like the "southern" sound though :)

I play a Telecaster so I understand twang. But Joe's voice sounded like he was putting it on too much. Kind of a satire on Sire mix-a-lot and Garth Brooks at the same time. haha
