You should check with our site sponsor Northern Light FX. They give crazy prices, great service and they're a great company to deal with. They sometimes have demos, scratch and dent, trade-ins OR they may have a comparable system as far as bang for the buck. There are lots of pro audio gear manufacturers that are less well known but high quality/good performance like Community for example. They will steer you in the right direction and take good care of you.

If nothing else works, may I suggest a set of Yamaha BR15's powered by a Behringer EP2500. You're looking at about $750.00 or you may find them cheaper if you look around. Then save some $$$ to get a sub and another amp.

I just got the B52 matrix 100 vs for 699$ including the speakon cables @ 10ft(not included with the system). They screwed themselfs by bringing up the authorized dealer list on there PC. In seconds I had my windows phone searching each dealer by name. They wanted 899$.
It started with a blown setup on demo and the kid trying to sell me the 2000. I explained to him that he had no idea wtf he was talking about and the 1000 was obviously beat to snot. After arguing with him and him refusing to show me any of the refurbished amps I talked with his manager.
It sounds great! Absolutly perfect. I run my PC as the source. All my devices plug directly into it. Everything is then run through the Sound Blaster XFI Platinum, crystalized and compressed by Breakaway audio compressor. Very crisp and clean. I could not be any happier. Now lets see how long this thing lasts before it starts degrading
Thanks to everyone who helped point me in the right direction. I got a product of very high build quality. Its easy to move and assemble. It sounds great and above all things its alot louder then I thought it would be. THANKS!!
If I add anything to it it will be a set of Europower powered 15' inchers for a bit more volume.

I take it you are using these in a Frat house?

Is the house paying for them or is it coming out of your pocket?
Will you be the only one operating the system?
If you are going to be the only operator I expect they will still be working for you when you leave, if any or all of the brothers will be allowed to operate it I expect it to last you all of 1 month!
For a Frat house system (if it were me) I would have purchased a pair of used SP2 Peaveys and a used Peavey PV2000 amp. They would still be working 20 years from now!

Haha. No I live with 3 other people in a house. No frat. Grown men. I dont let anyone touch my electronics. Thats pretty much a death sentence. I paid for the system out of my pocket. I have a very nice Yamaha 5.1 system from 3 years back before they turned into junk. I just detest cranking it out. This PA system is something I plan on having for a very long time.
The only downside to this new setup is I now have to collect a TON of CDs as MP3s are just not enough. You can hear every single flaw in the music. Quality is everything atm.
I suspect your quality issues with MP3s may be due to low bit rate of the mp3.... for example an mp3 at 192k vs 96k the 192k is certainly going to sound much better than the same song at 96k... and at 256k and above you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between CD and mp3....
I'm glad you found a system you are happy with.... although I didn't quite follow what your problems were with the sales person... where did you buy? Some sort of pawn shop or used music dealer?
I went to Guitar Center. They have a policy of beating any authorised dealers price even from an online store.
My first problem with the sales was every time I asked a question they all had to run to the computer to give me any specs on anything. If my job is to sell PA gear I for damb sure will make a point to know everything I can about my gear. Print out what I dont and have it on hand.
My second problem was I wanted to demo alot of options. Getting these guys to plug in some speakers was a task. First they had to look up the speaker specs and find the right amp ect.. It was horrible.
My third problem was the sales people telling me the 1000 was nothing. They had a near totaly blown demo. It was not even the V2. Every time I would look at the system they would turn on something in the 2000$ + range and tell me how good it was. They would argue with me telling me the 1000 was a POS ect and I should get the 2000 at the very least as they cranked the 2000 that was new out of the box demo. Getting them to play any amp+ speaker combo ended up with the most expensive set of JBLs instead of what I wanted
When it comes to my tracks I play FLAC encoded CD tracks. There is certainly a big difference over MP3s. Its night and day.
FYI: I just cleaned my sound room. It took me 30 minutes. Rolled out the 1000 did my deal and was back playing my music in no time. I think I am now on the road to 100% active gear from now on. Love it!

And I would agree with you that FLAC and even OGG for compressed (albiet slightly compressed as compared to WAV) are certainly better formats over the conventional MP3..... however, they are not as widely supported by many pro-software programs.... for example VDJ doesn't come packed with a decoder for FLAC... there may be a plug-in but I haven't looked yet.... OtsAV uses it's own container format but is still based on MP3.... PCDJ I believe supports FLAC however, that one is just not my cup of tea.....
But, your assesment of the quality of FLAC vs MP3 is very astute and tells me you know your PC formats.... so kudos to you.
My listening room is hardwood floored and wood paneled. I hear every single defect. With this little system I am now able to fill my room and my house with a very small amount of work with great sound. My surround system holds your hand and filters everything to make it sound better. The days of tiny bandwith pipes and small storage devices are over. There is no need for MP3s imo so I go right for the closest thing to the studio I can find.
