Going to try and keep this thread updated with new intros of note ....

NAMM is still a week a away, but Carvin just posted some new speakers it is introducing.

Seem similar to the RCF EVOX (though can't tell if powered or passive).

New Column Line Array Systems to Debut at NAMM 2015

Carvin Audio and TCS Audio will unveil new column line array systems at the Winter NAMM Show 2015 in Anaheim, CA, January 22-25. The ultra-portable ACS system by Carvin Audio is ideal for sound professionals as well as bands that want a portable and powerful column array sound system. The ACS6 column utilizes both CDD™ (Constant Delivery Dispersion™) for even output level for both near and far listeners, and VCE™(Vertical Column Expansion™) for increased vertical coverage. Also debuting is the compact ATOM8 monitor/main. This compact monitor can be positioned for 2 different angles for a stage monitor as well as pole mounted for a fill or compact main. A new TRx compact subwoofer is also debuting. The TRx3010A is a powerful dual 10" subwoofer with a very small footprint.

Chauvet has some new stuff as well: http://chauvetdjblog.com/chauvet-dj...EATURE_PROD_READ_BTN&utm_campaign=DJ_JAN_2015

Nothing there really stood out for me, but maybe you can find something to love.

New Allen & Heath Powered Mixer in the ZED family.

ZED1000-3Quarter-Front_Website.jpg

Allen & Heath has extended its top selling ZED series with the launch of ZED Power 1000, a compact 2X500W powered mixer with onboard FX, 9 band graphic EQ and USB recording / playback.

Zed Power 1000’s built-in 2 channel, class D amplifier is coupled to a linear power supply to deliver cool running efficiency, robustness and high peak headroom with smooth bottom end. The 9 band stereo graphic equaliser provides the ideal tool for matching the PA to the acoustic space for the performance. Amp controls include individual level controls, status indication and routing matrix allowing stereo PA use or mono plus monitor / sub use.

ZED Power 1000 has 8 mic / line inputs offering 3 band EQ with swept mid, plus two stereo inputs. Two of the jack inputs can be switched to take a low level input from a guitar pickup, so guitars can be plugged straight into the mixer without needing DI boxes. These inputs have been designed to recreate the definition and warmth of a classic tube preamp in a combo or head amp.

A flexible USB connection allows playback to / from a computer for capturing stereo recordings of shows or playing walk-in music or backing tracks from a laptop. The mixer is also equipped with professional XLR main stereo outputs, 60mm faders, a flexible monitoring section and 16 high quality digital FX.*ZED Power 1000 weighs in at a modest 10.3kg (24lbs) and has a robust carry handle built into the chassis for easy access to the most challenging of venues.

Allen & Heath’s Senior Product Manager, Nicola Beretta, commented, “There are so many gigging musicians, schools, rental companies, hotels and conference venues who rely on powered mixers night after night. ZED Power 1000 offers them a great solution: it’s lightweight, it delivers the proven audio quality that our ZED series is renowned for, and it’s built to last, with individual circuit boards, nutted pots and a rugged linear power supply.”

ZED Power 1000 is available from March 2015.

Allen & Heath introduced a rack mount version of their QU line of mixers .. not really for DJs, but for those that also do a bit of live work might be neat.

Qu-Pac Press Image (1).jpg

Allen & Heath has extended its successful Qu range with the launch of Qu-Pac, an ultra-compact digital mixer with both a built-in touchscreen and iPad control app.

Designed for live music and installed sound, Qu-Pac is a freestanding or rack mount mixer, providing a flexible solution for bands and in multi-purpose environments such as schools, hotels and bars. Qu-Pac connectivity offers 16 mono inputs, 3 stereo inputs and 12 mix outputs on the rear panel, but that can be expanded up to 38 in / 28 out by connecting to Allen & Heath’s family of remote AudioRacks over Cat5.

The mixer offers total recall of settings and preamps, multi-track recording to USB via Qu-Drive, a choice of personal monitoring solutions, channel ducking, multi-channel USB streaming and the renowned iLive FX Library to deliver outstanding audio quality, making it the most fully featured digital mixer in its class.

Continuing the trend of remote iPad mixing started with the iLive family over 4 years ago, the Qu-Pad iPad app gives instant wireless control of the mixer’s key parameters and settings, freeing the user to mix the show from anywhere in the venue. Unlike rackmount digital mixers which wholly rely on tablet control, Qu-Pac’s high resolution, full colour 5” Touchscreen gives easy access to all functions, providing a simple interface for day-to-day operation and a backup in the event of Wi-Fi connection problems disrupting control.* A fully customisable Qu-Control screen can be set up with ‘widgets’ for channel levels, mutes and assignment switches, arranged to suit the application and the experience of the user. Fifteen softkeys allow further customisation, while different levels of user access can be set up and password protected.

As well as stereo recording or playback from a USB key, the built-in, 18-channel Qu-Drive can record and playback multitrack and stereo audio .wav files to a USB key or drive. This gives the convenience of computer-free recording in live and field applications. Qu-Pac’s 32x32, Windows and Mac compliant USB streaming interface also makes it the perfect recording solution for tracking, monitoring and overdubbing in the studio. To further increase flexibility for fixed installs and growing bands, Allen & Heath’s dSNAKE low latency audio connection enables the mixer to connect over a single Cat5 digital snake to AB168, AR84 and AR2412 remote audio racks. In addition, Qu-Pac offers two solutions for personal monitoring: via the Qu-You iPhone app or using ME-1 personal mixers, which connect to the mixer via the dSNAKE port.

The mixer’s mic/line inputs feature crystal clear AnaLOGIQ recallable pad-less preamps, optimised for transparency and low harmonic distortion. Qu-Pac is equipped with a selection of FX emulations developed for the iLive pro touring series, along with all the tools a sound engineer would expect to see, such as RTA and comprehensive metering and monitoring.

Numark (numark.com), the world’s leading innovator of DJ solutions, today announced the introduction of two new DJ controllers to their family of industry-leading DJ solutions, the MIXTRACK PRO 3 and MIXTRACK 3.

Designed with the skilled, professionally-aspiring DJ in mind, the new controllers offer a multitude of features and performance attributes that set them above the entry-level class of product, yet they offer extraordinary value and easy transportability.

Building on the previous MIXTRACK models and retaining all the features and benefits that made them so incredibly popular, the new models share the same basic platform and boast several performance/feature characteristics that make them particularly satisfying and effective to use. A good example is the class-exclusive 100mm pitch sliders that make it simple to execute extremely fine pitch adjustments, so it’s easy to keep two cuts in beat sync without any drift. The conventional 60mm pitch sliders on competitive units can’t come close to matching the MIXTRACK’s performance in this critical area.

Other important features shared by both models:
1. Dedicated filter knobs for each channel, which provides a level of sophisticated, precise tonal control rarely, if ever, found at these price points.
2. A multi-function touch strip for dynamic FX control and Strip Search operation
3. Independent transport controls for greater operational flexibility, and they both utilize metal—not plastic—controls for long-term durability.
4. Both include Prime Loops remix tool kit for adding loops and samples to live sets

Here is a brief listing of the MIXTRACK PRO 3’s and MIXTRACK 3’s important features:

MIXTRACK PRO 3
  • All-in-one Controller Solution for Serato DJ
  • Dedicated filter knobs for each channel
  • Includes Serato DJ Intro—upgrade-ready for full Serato DJ
  • Includes Prime Loops remix tool kit
  • Multi-function Touch Strip for dynamic FX control and Track Search
  • 16 multi-function performance pads
  • All-new high resolution metal jog wheels
  • Dual 5-inch hyper-responsive metal platters
  • Multiple FX manipulation
  • Dedicated track browsing controls from your library
  • Integrated class compliant audio interface with ¼’ and 1/8” headphone connections
MIXTRACK 3
  • All-in-one controller solution for Virtual DJ
  • Similar to the PRO 3 but it includes Virtual DJ LE 8 and it doesn’t have the audio interface with ¼’ and 1/8” headphone connections:
  • Dedicated Filter knobs for each channel
  • Multi-function Touch Strip for dynamic FX control and Track Search
  • 16 multi-function performance pads
  • All-new high resolution metal jog wheels
  • Multiple FX manipulation
  • Includes Virtual DJ LE 8
  • Includes Prime Loops remix tool kit
  • Dedicated track browsing controls from your library

New Numark "Lighted Speakers"

Lightwave_angle_media_10x8 copy.jpg

Numark (numark.com), the world’s leading innovator of DJ solutions, today announced the introduction of their new Lightwave powered loudspeaker with dual LED arrays. The Lightwave is perfect for any festive situation where both terrific sound and brilliant, exciting party lighting is desired, but where space, budget and setup complexity are all major considerations.

There are countless small- to medium-sized events where top-quality DJ/PA sound and celebratory lighting is needed: backyard weddings, graduation parties, karaoke contests, pool parties, coffee house performances, recitals, reunions, anniversary observations and more. In every one of these situations, large, expensive, complicated stacks of equipment and lighting are both inappropriate and unnecessary. Numark’s Lightwave speaker fulfills all the requirements with one easily-transportable, easy-to-set up unit.

Plus, it has a Demo Mode that automatically shows off its many lighting operations, right on the retail floor, so customers can experience Lightwave’s amazing capabilities on their own.

An overview of Lightwave’s thoughtful features and sophisticated performance characteristics gives an accurate indication of its suitability for a wide variety of uses:
  • Built-in dual LED arrays provide brilliant light show
  • Five customizable lighting modes: Mood, Meter, Mix, Pulse, Party
  • Brightness control lets you adjust or disable LEDs
  • Custom Color Control—easily adjust the desired mix of Red, Green, and Blue lighting
  • Adds powerful sound and visual flair to any DJ or other performance
  • Ultra-portable form factor for clean, uncluttered setups
  • Perfect for special events, house parties, karaoke where additional lighting would add clutter
  • (1) XLR+¼-inch combo, Stereo RCA and ?-inch inputs for DJ mixers, microphones or instruments
  • Dual volume controls for input level balancing
  • XLR Link Output for use with multiple speakers or subwoofers
  • Rubberized feet with standard 36mm pole socket for stand mounting
  • (3) 6 ½-inch woofers and 1-inch tweeter
  • 200 watts of peak power, 100 watts continuous of Class D amplification
  • Durable speaker cabinet resists bumps, scratches, dust, and stains
  • Compact, lightweight cabinet is just 8.4 x 29.2 x 10.1” and 23 lbs.

New "Pro" wireless audio solution from Alto .. an addition to their Stealth line ...

StealthPro_Media copy.jpg

Cumberland, RI (January 22, 2015)—Alto Professional (altoproaudio.com), the world’s leading innovator for live performance reinforcement products, today announced the expansion of their Stealth Wireless series. The Stealth Wireless Pro is an innovative system that eliminates the need for speaker cabling and offers even greater performance capabilities with additional professional features.

The Alto Professional Stealth Wireless Pro system adds wireless audio connectivity to any active loudspeaker, obviating the necessity for long, complex cable runs, simplifying setup and teardown, saving time—all without any compromise in audio quality. The system works perfectly well through walls, floors and ceilings, providing setup flexibility that far exceeds conventional hard-wired systems.

Stealth Wireless Pro contains a single dual-channel transmitter with a 2-antenna system (either dual mono or stereo switchable) for true diversity operation. A front panel LCD screen with dual frequency display conveniently shows the RF frequency and channel as well as the AF signal level for each channel.

The trim-sized unit is easily 1U rack-mountable, with two units fitting side-by-side in a 19” rack. The included rack kit includes BNC connectors for attaching antennae at the front of the rack. BNC extension cables are also included. This self-contained kit provides a convenient wireless path to carry a stereo audio signal from the main mixing/listening location to the sound system. The Stealth Wireless Series adds wireless connectivity to nearly any active loudspeaker system. In addition, the Stealth Wireless Series greatly reduces the setup time of a travelling or temporary sound system by eliminating the need for lengthy and unsightly cable runs that may otherwise interfere with the dance floor, patrons, or venue staff.

Stealth Wireless Pro can be set for mono or stereo use. Two XLR + balanced TRS 1/4" combo inputs on the transmitter accommodate the main outputs from nearly any mixing board or console. Each of the receiving units has a single XLR output to send the signal to a powered speaker array or a traditional amplifier-and-speaker combo.

Two receivers are included with the system. They feature slim-line metal housings, dual removable and swiveling hinged antennas, delay line functionality and a Feature Lock Switch to prevent unintended operation once the system is configured. The Stealth Wireless Pro Expander Pack provides two additional receivers for adding more loudspeakers to a system and providing increased coverage. The user may add as many expander packs as needed to accommodate any size system.
