What year did you start DJ'ing?

This was my first big DJ system circa 1985. That's George (RIP) in the photo...he was one of my best friends and DJ partner back then. He was behind building the light show...me the sound system and the record and cassette/reel-to-reel collections. Jump forward to today (photo #3)...

What is your feelings on 50 years of Hip Hop?

What's funny is that I started DJing in 1980 (43 years)...and I carried vinyl records around for 25 years... Probably before most of today's mobile DJ's were even born! And I never once relied on Hip Hop music to keep me in business! Ever!

Anybody here still use Visitrax software?

Yup! I'm Old Skool! I figure that since I have all of this nice equipment...why not still use it! Plus, if you were around back in the days of vinyl, then you know that this is just a drop in the bucket compared to hauling around 3000 albums and 2500 45's, huge speaker stacks, gigantor light...

Anybody here still use Visitrax software?

Yes! I used it at a gig last Saturday night to search for the tunes... My feeble peabrain can't remember where the tunes are now that I'm one year from being old...

Anybody here still use Visitrax software?

Their website is still up... VisiTrax pricing and ordering information - (http://www.synapsa.com/pricing.htm) Which is why I would like to get it going again. But like I said, since I've been using this software since 2006 and my entire database is in this software, I'd like to keep it going...

Anybody here still use Visitrax software?

I know... I tried to pay for it, but it won't accept my CC cards... Which is why I'm wondering if they are still in business.

Anybody here still use Visitrax software?

I still have my old Windows XP computer tucked away in the back closet...which was the computer I was using when I purchased VisiTrax. I'm gonna dig it out this afternoon and see if it will still run the whole version and let me add the CD's to the database! I'm also hoping that the VisiTrax...

Anybody here still use Visitrax software?

Anybody here still use Visitrax software? In the last two years I've gone through several life changes, including moving to another state. I'm trying to enter a bunch of CD's I've purchased into my Visitrax, but I had to do a reformat on both of my Computers and now the Visitrax is in the...

Sears Third Quarter was nothing short of Terrifying

The Super K-Mart store by us is now closed . . . the Sear's Grand store is still open, as is the Sear's Outlet store across the street from where I work (and where we got our dishwasher).

Sears Third Quarter was nothing short of Terrifying

Our local K-Mart Superstore has been in liquidation for the last couple of months. Sad to see that store go, although I will say that it has been at least a couple of years since the last time I went in there. Bought my Craftsman air compressor there five or six years ago. We have a newer...

    Alto Speakers Behringer or TurboSound

I am retired from DJing, but still like to do a gig or two every once in awhile. I bought a pair of the Alto 12's four years ago to do a last minute switch to an outdoor wedding ceremony where I was already set up inside of a hotel for the reception. A quick trip to the local Guitar Center and...

    RadioShack Getting "Creative"

I still have my last Radio Shack mixer . . . Haven't had my system set up in about 3 1/2 years . . . but will be getting it out in February for a few performances down in Tucson, AZ!

Do you bring your own table, or rely on client/venues?

I started bringing my own tables (two for the vinyl, one for the turntables) back in 1980 when I first got into this crazy biz. Guess I was a pioneer . . .

    RadioShack Getting "Creative"

The Radio Shack by my house is still open . . . although I will admit it has been at least six months since I stopped in.

    Could this be a scam?

The instant that anyone doesn't want to speak with you in person . . . on the phone . . . should be the instant you turn them down. It is as simple as that.

A rare triple-header (for me at least)

Back in the 80's I did three wedding receptions in one day . . . and that was back when vinyl was king! I swore that I'd never do that ever again . . .

Need a BEST OF BOTH WORLDS camera.

This probably won't be a problem for the OP as he most likely will only get one or two kit lenses, which will AF on the D3000 or D5000, The D3000 with both VR kit lenses (18-55 and 55-200) can be purchased for around $650 US. One other DSLR to look at would be the Olympus E-600 two lens...

Making a promotional DVD, this HD cam caught my eye.

There are several good HD camcorders down in the $500 price range now. Sony has several as do other manufacturers. They are, of course, consumer models, but still very nice and HD.
