My partner is looking into getting some smaller subs.

My partner called me this morning to ask me how the event in Branch Brook Park turned out. I told him it was messy. Sound kept going out.

My partner was talking about getting either some more tops or smaller subs. He was talking about getting a pair of 15's subs. He was talking about getting them to use instead of the Yorkville 801P subs. Those subs are GREAT subs but weight 135 pounds. So he was looking into getting subs that don't weight as much.

I agree with him because those subs are super heavy and trying to lift them in the van is super tough. Besides we don't have clients who will spend enough money to use those subs.

As much as I hate to say this I'm considering selling those subs. If I do for the pair I would sell them for $1,500. I wouldn't go any lower.

If sound kept going out, why would getting a smaller subwoofer help?

If those subs are in good shape, you will definitely get your asking price. You should list them on Facebook market place. I seen used 801p sell for 1200 a piece.

If they are like the rest of mixes used gear they will be pretty rough never having covers on them , do they have yorkville drivers or have the been replaced, who knows,

What is your problem!? They are in great condition. I haven't decided if I'm going to sell them or not. I will wait until we get the other subs.

So , You don't own the subs?
You keep saying WE!
I bought them years ago from KPODJ. I just found out what the issue was with the DJ in Branch Brook Park. He was relying on the internet to play music. They kept asking who had a hot spot or WiFi. That's ugly. What they should have was music on a HD or music on their laptop to play the music.

135 lbs that insane for somebody in their 60s to be moving in & out a van. I just unloaded my passive dual 15” they are about 85 lbs used them mainly to hold down my inflatable screen for the 27 years. I was like WTF, usually I have my son or the crew move them. They are out now replaced with powered JBL 15” sub which are 62 lbs. likely they will barely be used as most events I do don’t require them.

When you say “we” does that mean the two of you have shared business account and thusly shared ownership of the gear, or are you assume you have half ownership of the subs he is planning on purchasing?

So, you are CONSIDERING selling subs you can’t lift and you don’t have any gigs to use them at.

Can you explain why you are CONSIDERING keeping them?

Sell them for whatever you can get and buy a pair of light manageable speakers like EV8 or Bose S1 pro+. Any would be more than enough for what you need.

They weren’t in the van they only come out for high paying park gigs
We haven't used them in the park in years. I used one a few years back because the room is a very large room. 2 tops wouldn't do in that room. My buddy has done events in that room. That's how I got to know the size of the room.
