Source for black extension cords?

I have found some through office max or one of those office supply houses 75 foot all black including flat end adjustable angled for 17-19 dollars. Ben probably has the best of them though.
How long are you wanting your cables?
For short fifteen footers and molded plugs, I've found great buys over at lowes and home depot.
As for Power Cable, I'd suggest nothing less than SJOW or SOOW (Recommended) the bulk wire can be picked up at any electrical warehouse in your area. More than likely depending on the applications, 16 AWG 3 Conductor should do the trick. Finish the ends off with some black NEMA Edison Sockets, Leviton, Hubbell. Pretty much none of those cheap connectors. Took me a lot of searching to get those cables.
Oh and a note, electrical shops have rude guys, so watch out. Be prepared for the "We don't have it" statement.

Another solution if black isn't available and your in a pinch the dark green outdoor extentions available at any home improvement store will do... the darker green the better of course.... after all once the lights go out they all look alike right?

My buddy is a sparky, so he picked up some good ends, and assembled & tested them for me.

I don't think you would be disappointed with them Papa.
I have some 12 gauge orange cords, and my black ones make the orange ones look pathetic.
If you want no-nonsence "pro" cords. a spool is the way to go.
Papa, I've purchased 1.5', 25' and 50' black power cables from Goodbuyguys.com...along with Gaffer's & Cable Path tape.
Using Orange Extension cables are in some cases outlawed by some fire codes. Hey and the rigging companies like using black cables... Hint, Hint!!!
The Orange cables are rated for outdoors, however not for indoors. Typically these cables which are consumer grade are not rated for oil and water resistance.
I hand assembled my cables, and throughly tested them with my plug in power tester, and fluke multimeter. So far so good. (Knock on Wood)

If you're gonna buy service cord in bulk, avoid the SJ (Junior) and SJT (thermoplastic) jacket designations. These are light duty and the SJ jacket will dry rot over time. Thermoplastic will become hard and unmanageable in cold climes.
The NEC requires that all service cord be marked with its jacket designation, number of conductors and conductor size. Therefore, SO3/12 is SO (Service, Oil Resistant) and contains three conductors, 12 gauge.
