If you had to vote for president today...

Barbara Bush was a class act. She was the nation's rock ~ a friendly, smiling grandmother figure who always seemed to have just the right amount of level-headedness when her husband made a doofus of himself.

I'd vote for the Clintons' cat before I'd vote for Hilly Bob. :D

Don't get me wrong... it's got nothin' to do with a woman in the Oval Office. Many countries have elected women to lead over the years and it's worked fine for them. The thing that worries me about Hilly Bob is the fact that she's married to Billy Bob, aka Slick Willie. I do not wish to see him back in the White House, ever again.

Those two are barely on speaking terms. They live separate lives. To put them in the position of CIC of the most powerful nation on Earth scares the bejeezus outta me. It'd be like role-reversal.... Bill couldn't do a damn thing right so let's reverse the roles and see if his missus could do better.

Anyone who thinks the American prez is gonna "fix" this nation's health care woes has been watching too much television. Our health care system isn't broken ~ it's just too costly for the average American to afford. The executive branch cannot (and will not) "fix" that. I guess Hilly Bob is hoping that most people have forgotten her dismal failure to sell affordable health care to the Congress while her husband was chasing female interns around the White House.

Rick's right. There's too much snake oil being marketed to the public. The patent med infomercials need to be taken out of our mass media and put back in the doctors' offices where they belong.

I'll vote for Rick. :)

Never knew there was a first one... :sqconfused:

On a serious note (as serious as I can get for my candidacy :)), the only health crisis is people watching too many damn pharmaceutical company ads on TV, saying they have some acronym or another, and need their drugs!

What we need, is to get America healthy, and off their asses and drugs!

There's no reason to go to a doctor and/or get drugs, unless lots of blood is coming out, some sort of internal hard object is sticking out through the skin, or you just fell off the roof, and the world is tinted slightly pink (that usually goes away after awhile though ;)).

Virtually anything else, can be resolved with a bottle of JD, a roll of duct tape, and/or the appropriate application of high explosives :)

So, my message on health care, to the masses that will vote for me are:

- Don't eat too much, unless you get lots of exercise.
- Don't do drugs (weeds aren't drugs, BTW).
- Drink lots of beer to keep the blood thin.
- Stop watching TV, yer getting fat and PC.
- If you can't get it up -- yer old, and sh_t happens.
- You can't live forever -- not my fault, ask Eve and Adam about that one.

Rockit the Vote

Amen to that!

You got that right. ADD, hell, one slap from my father and I was paying attention.

I will do the exact same thing I have done for the past 16 years (since I have been old enough to vote) on election day.

Get up, go past a voting precinct, laugh at all the people who think they are really making a difference, then go to Ihop for breakfast.

Anyone who thinks any politician, be it local or national, is actually going to care about what you have to say or care about it fooling themselves. Without term limits, elections are completely meaningless.

I'm buying you a drink.

Left? Right? They all stink!

Ya know, I used to feel that way too. For a long time. Without trying to get too political, I guess what has made the huge difference for me is what I think W has done since he has been in office. I feel that he has this country on a course straight to hell in many ways.
Something has got to change drastically in America. I do not consider myself a republican or a democrat, so I am not partisan based on party lines, but I must say that at this point, the republicans have had their shot and have performed poorly at best.
One thing I'll agree on is that there sometimes seems to be only the lesser of two evils to vote for, and that is why I was always too cynical to vote.

I never like saying I was wrong, but in not voting at all I was wrong. Whether you like them or not, these politicians do things that affect your life, so you might at least want to try to have a hand in who that is.

Have each of you even taken the time to visit the web sites of all the major players to see what they stand for and what they say they will try to accomplish whthey are in office? The next time you have a little web surfing time available to you, (and if you are reading this you do have some)

Here is a link to the profiles of each candidate. In it there are links to their campaign web sites. Take some time so see what they say.

Too many people in this country vote based on soud bytes that are presented with lots of media slant. Be informed and make a choice.

Everytime I do one of those candidate pickers, it always picks Hilliary.
Sorry guys to break it to you, I must be just another dumba$$ democrat.
I'm so proud of my ignorance.

I knew there was a reason we got along.

I don't necessarily like Hillary over Obama (I'm a straight Dem ticket guy) but I DO like the idea of Bill in a postion of influence again. All cheating aside, he balanced the budget and was GREAT at foreign policy...something we are REALLY going to need after this mess in the middle east we've gotten into.

All Clinton was good at was being our national used car salesman. He is a prime cause of global warming!

I remember Clinton campaigning on the premise that we needed a president who didn't spend so much time on foreign policy and paid more attention to domestic matters. So there.

As I recall, it was the Republican congress which balanced the budget. Clinton said himself that we'd have budget deficits through this decade and into the next!

Just some points from this Libertarian... :)

Is this guy still alive? :D

I sure miss all his charts and graphs! :sqwink:

(Ro$$ Perot) For the younger guys who don't know who this is....:sqlaugh:
