So, those of you who read my Pre-Gig post, know I was concerned about this gig. When i got to the site, having to take my mom's car as my truck isn't covered, i was pleasanty surprised at what i saw. They had a professional wedding-quality 16x16 tent set up with walls (that came down when it stopped raining). Very sturdy. The only disadvantage was that the ground was a little wet and uneven, preventing from putting my speaker on the sub. I grabbed a piece of pywood to set up my sub on under my rack's table and was good to go. This was my 2nd major gig running primarily PCDJ and with new Vista software, an upgraded laptop and memory and an external soundcard, the sound was EXCELLENT. The event was 5 hours and overall went well. I brought 2 laptops, one was for PCDJ and the other was for emergency downloads which i had none of thank goodness. The new DNX-500 was amazing and really improved my sound. Oh and it cleared up for about 4 hours and ppl enjoyed the pool and then it poured and i was surrounded by about 20 very..attractive young ladies. (keep in mind i'm 17 here ppl). Comments and criticism accepted and duly noted and thanked. And yeah the skirting is messed up, the sub and moisture killed them plus i had to cover a piece of plywood the sub was sitting on.Facade is the next purchase.
