So, I downloaded the trial version on my one laptop... I already own VDJ.... how do I register that version for that laptop? I understand the license allows me to put it on multiple machines.

You can't enter a code into the demo version,you will need to go to virtualdj.com and log into the site with your user name and password,once you do that you can click on the "download center" tab and you will have access to the full version.I am going to assume that you have already registered your serial # so you are a pro user?After you down load the full version it will prompt you to enter your serial number the first time you activate the software.

you should also have the Original that you can put on say a Flash drive and transfer it to the laptop... then enter your serial number and bang all should work
