Anyone get any DJ related stuff for Christmas?

I got a 5TB hard drive but other than that it was a DJ free Christmas

I did get an acoustic guitar, and a few drum related toys. But nothing DJ related.

Honestly, I'm not sure what I'd even want right now DJ wise. The S-11 looks cool, but my S-9 is in great shape and I don't need the upgrade. And a $2,000 mixer isn't exactly in the ol' Christmas gift category.

Is there anything you guys would want that you don't have from a DJ toy perspective?

No .. I'd like a couple stands (either K&M or Gravity .. both similar to the image below) for my JBL speakers (PRX612 and EON Compacts) .. and that's pretty much it. I'm trying to scale things down size wise. I'll probably still end up buying more shit, cuz that's what I do, but I don't have any immediate need. I still may upgrade the PRX to a pair of Yamaha DZR .. we'll see ...

My wife and I were talking about this the other day I have an account at the local Long and McQuade that is about to be paid off...I've never actually ever paid it off before because if you do you have to reapply and it's a pain in the a** so there is usually something I want and I usually try to work it around a zero interest time it keeps the account open and I get a fresh supply of new toys.

This time I just can't seem to find anything I want or can justify as a business expense when the business isn't bringing in any income. I thought about the Gig Bar Move but apparently they are unavailable at this time and it is a bit of money too. I may have a look this week and pick something small just to keep the account open

I've got a pair of the K&Ms. I like the way they look, but the pole width (insert joke here) isn't the easiest to deal with. I was hoping they'd be wider.

I bought a dual wireless microphone set that I love. I make sure for my birthday and Christmas I always buy me something. That way if nobody buys me anything I'm not upset.

K&M have the awesome collet ring expander which locks up nicely on speakers. I had a set of the sub poles with them. Unfortunately they don't have it on the large square base stand, but have it in a smaller round base one (45 pound capacity) .. just not sure it would be steady enough. Also possible they may sell the pole and base separately. Round one looks like this and is about $160 a piece shipped:

My wife said she wanted to go big on Christmas lights next year. I told her I could but might need some good DMX controllable lights to create something unique. I may also have the yard wired in advance to support whatever I may come up with. This will be the closest to a DJ like purchase I expect in the next year.

No DJ gear, but then I never got any DJ gear for Christmas before unless I bought it myself. But then, my wife could not think of anything to buy me for Christmas, so I ended up ordering a hand mixer (for food, not audio) two days before Christmas. The one I normally use wore out, so we needed a new one. It came on Christmas Eve. I also ended up wrapping it myself.☹ Come to think of it, I pretty much did EVERYTHING myself this year... put up the tree, decorated it, bought the food, cooked Christmas dinner, wrapped all the presents... can’t think of a thing my wife contributed? I did get a gift card for one of my favorite restaurants from my Daughter, but my wife will even get a chunk of that, as it would not be cool to put her meal on a separate check and make her pay for it... WOULD IT?😂

Since my wife is Jewish, I do all of the decorating, and most of the gift buying and wrapping. I generally buy my own presents (sometimes I'll give it to her to wrap). I don't mind .. I'm a pretty good shopper ..

This was actually the first year I did almost no decorating .. I have some holiday path "tree branch" lights I put up, but nothing else .. no tree, and I've had a live one for the past 35 years. It didn't really make sense with no one coming here and my kids out of the house. I hope to restart next year.

My wife did one of those DNA tests and it came back she's 2% Jewish. So I just had my bat mitzvah😄

I got the Christmas tree decorated and the gifts wrapped on Christmas Eve... the first year we have EVER been that late. Neither of us were much into the Christmas spirit this year, but somebody had to do something. Only my daughter came over for Christmas dinner this year, and it was nice... at least until my wife got testy with my daughter, which happens almost every time we get together.

My wife never had any kids of her own, and we did not marry until my daughter was out of high school. The three of us only lived together for about a year before my daughter moved out on her own, so there’s not a tight bond there. My daughter and I have always been very close since I raised her myself since she was two and a half years old. Makes for a difficult situation sometimes.☹️

I actually wrapped the majority of the presents on Christmas Day, since my son came over on Saturday and then we took stuff up to my daughter/son-in-law on Sunday. I would have had my son on Thursday, but with the rain and wind planned, didn't want to chance losing power while the expensive roast was in the oven.

BTW, Bat Mitzvahs are for the girls .. Bar Mitzvahs are for the guys ... just saying. I guess that circumcision is back on the table ... :)
