Here are a few photos from last night's Spring Bash! at my son's high school. My son is in grade nine there, he is behind the controls in one of the photos. There were 300 in attendance, we used 1/4 of the HUGE gym because they wanted to keep them contained; worked great! They used the divider in the middle of the gym and then I set up almost in the center of that half. Sound consisted of two FBT MaxX 4a tops and two RCF ART705AS sub-woofers. The sound was fantastic and I never clipped the subs. As for the tops, anyone familiar with FBT knows that they can really put out. I set the sub crossover to 120Hz so the tops could take it easy, they ate it up and wanted more! Lighting was four 2m (6 1/2 ft) truss towers, two topped with Martin Acrobats (MC1 controller) using custom brackets and two topped with Chauvet Colorstrips set sound-active #23 linked master-slave so patterns chased from one end to the other. All four totems were lit with Slimpar 64's set to sound-active. There was also one pointing at the drape behind the DJ. X-Laser Mobile Beat MK IV was used controlled by Pangolin QuickShow software, it was awesome! My Neutron XS hazer is in Texas being repaired so I used my trusty little ADJ Fog Storm 700 fogger. Enjoy the photos!
PS: Note to oneself, leave plastic-head hammer at home and bring real hammer for installing / removing truss pins.
