I just blew out my older Mackie 1500 (don't want a new model). Replaced the fuse and it blew again, so I suspect the power supply. While it's in for repairs, I need a new sub. I'm looking for a good one... I have my eye on an EV, JBL, QSC or similar, 18 inch minimum. Anyone with something for sale? I need it ASAP. Larry 218-330-9288.
 
I have 2 Yorkville Unity subs that I intend to sell, but getting them to MN would be difficult.

I would steer you to either the QSC KW181 or the JBL PRX-618XLF .. both excellent. Alternatively, there are a number of Yorkville, Danley or JTR subs that kick serious butt.

I was hoping for someone (or vendor) who had one right now, to sell me. Absent a response, I'll venture out tomorrow and see what the local shops have. I already have the QSC KW181, and love it. That took two weeks to ship, however. If I have to wait, I'll wait.
 
One of the best powered sub out there is a name you may have never heard of but this sub will bury QSC JBL Yorkville subs. This is the sub in question.

Yes he will make a powered version for you.
 
But that sub requires a lot of juice and amperage to run (only 91db sensitivity). For the price of that power-hungry passive sub, I could buy a Self-Powered Yorkville LS801p sub; 2500 Watt Peak/1500 Watt Continuous. It can do 140dB Peak (134dB Continuous) and only draw 6.6 amps at MAX output. You will hardly ever need to run these full out because they get REALLY LOUD, REALLY QUICK.

I have 2 Yamaha DSR i18 powered subs and I love them. I got mine from G C for I believe $750.00 including tax. I know that model is probably discontinued since I know the tops are. Just give that one a listen.
 
No one contacted me from this site. I'll be searching e-bay for what I need. Thanks everyone for your input.

What ever happened to Bernies old JBL rig that you bought from him Larry? Just use one of those if you still have them
 
@ ahouston... no he did not, I even sent Kat an e-mail. Nothing... So, I bought two subs on e-bay. The ones I bought from Bernie are WAY too big, and are passive. I needed small active subs. Now I have two more... thanks all!
