i have a denon x500 mixer and the cue buttons on channel 1 and 3 gave out...is there any way to fix them? anyone else having the same problem?
T-Bone, have you taken the mixer apart and given it a good cleaning yet?
The cue buttons do fail. All the light up square buttons are the same on the mixer. Its just the free floating white square plastic button that fails. The actual switch on the ciruit board is fine. I order a bunch of them online so i have spares. They were only a couple dollars each. Takes a little time to tear down the mixer enough to replace them though. I'll see tonight if i can find an invoice of where i got them and a part number. You could always swap them with less used switches in the mean time.
Thank you for the info. I also have problems with the cue buttons on my Denon x500 (and what's worse with the effects on/off button), I follow your advise and pulled off all the knobs and lifted the top of the mixer, but i found that the white plastic buttons are ok, the buttons attached to the circuit board look fine too, you can hear the click when you push them (like with the ones that work properly) but the light doesn't turn on and the cue function doesn't work. Does anybody have the same problem? What can I do? I'm happy with the mixer, that's the only problem i had with it and i need to fix it.Sorry I forgot about you... here's the info

You can find them a variety of places just by googling the part number. If I remember right you have to pull all the knobs and slider knobs off then take out all the screws on the face then lift the face of. the plastic square button that you are replacing has like two screws that hold it to the circuit board. you just have to take those out to replace it. The part that you are replacing is the plastic white button that actually sits over the button that is actually part of the circuit board if that makes sense. the part of the square knob that makes it springy fails and thats what makes it hard to use or not work at all. hope this helps! My DNX500 gets ALOT of mileage and I bought it used so I've learned the maintenance it needs
It's true, they work if you push harder, but you have to push reeeeally hard, i've already broken one of the white plastic buttons. Any other solution? How can I replace these switches?Yes i do. Push the button harder.
Do you have a Multimeter and do you know how to do a continuity test?Thank you for the info. Well, I can get one but I've never done any electronics before. What I'd like to know is if it's easy to replace those switches now that I have removed the top of the mixer.Do you have a Multimeter and do you know how to do a continuity test?
Take the unit to a qualified Denon Dealer or Electronics Repair Center.Well, I can get one but I've never done any electronics before. What I'd like to know is if it's easy to replace those switches now that I have removed the top of the mixer.
