Mellow background songs

I'm doing this big fundraiser and I've been asked to play about 2 hours of low key background music, a mixture of old and new stuff. This isn't my strong point as I'm usually more drawn to the up-key songs you can dance to. I've only been able to come up with about an hour worth of music. I'm getting frustrated and could really use a little help. Would be much appreciated.

So far I've got stuff like this:

1. MGMT-Electric Feel
2. Bruno Mars-Locked Out of Heaven
3. Ellie Goulding-Lights
4. Collective Soul-Shine
5. Toto-Africa
6. Prince-Little Red Corvette

If someone was to ask me to play Mellow Background Songs I would not play anything with vocals in them. Some progressive Jazz such as these may apply: If you need more like these just ask.

Try www.greenhillmusic.com you will find a variety of music...and you can hear a samples of each CD. Enjoy! I personally like Bege Adair Trio music for dinner. Let us knnow if there's something there that you decided to go with, please.

There are a few posts here on ODJT for dinner/cocktail music.
Many of the songs on those lists are contemporary...
mellow enough to not be offensive,
but upbeat enough to not be boring.

I hate to go into something like that with too much of a preconceived notion of what I'm going to play. I like to look at the crowd's age, how they're dressed and start selecting my music from there and just let it flow. If you're looking for contemporary stuff, sort your selections to your "Adult Contemporary" as the genre and you'll be able to pull from that.
