I had a bowling party to do last night at Hy Way Bowl on route 22 West in Union, NJ. It was to start at 9:30. I got to play around 10 since we had to wait to get everything setup because of being in the bowling alley. We brought in the 2 powered tops and put them on the stands. Canute so you'll know there was no where to use a sub at all. They had us setup on 2 tables right by the railings where people walk down to the lanes.
The party itself went well and I didn't move a thing or setup anything. I just played. And played I did. They loved me. We had an issue in the beginning. Went to hook up the cordless mic and couldn't use it because the power button on the receiver was broken. Not a biggie because I have a corded mic and he just hooked that up. I'm just glad it wasn't a wedding and this happened. Also no big deal because I bought the dual cordless mics at GC because my Shure went down. The power button on the mic stopped working. I just bought that cheap $50.00 mic setup because we had an event to do one week end and I just never took the time to send the Shure back to the company to get it fixed. I will now.
So things were going well and then comes this idiot bugging me. The first time it was OK. He asked if I had a song by Ten City called Devotion. I played that because I knew it would work for that crowd. Then later on he came back to ask me what was I going to play next. Like if I told him he would know. I know if I told him he then would have tried to tell me what to play. I didn't this want to be DJ's help. The crowd was loving me. I never said anything thinking he would get the hint and leave me alone. Later on he came up to me again and wanted a request that I knew wouldn't work for that crowd. The song was by Alyus called Follow Me. Great sone. Super classic that will work for certain events but not this one. I simply told him no and he went away for good. Thank God because it took everything I had to keep me from telling him to leave me the funk alone.
So we left there and I dropped a couple of friends off to their house and we got back to my house. The 2 guys unloaded the van and I dropped them off. When I went to park back near where I live at. You can't park on the street in East Orange, NJ between the hours of 2am and 6am or you'll get a ticket. So I'll park around the corner in Newark where I won't get a ticket. I get out the van and my leg locked up on me. I couldn't move. It took me about 3 to 4 minutes to finally get me to move my leg so I could walk.
Lastly I didn't put this in the gig log section because I left the camera at home and didn't take any pictures except one of this super fine chick there at the party with my Iphone.
