My pc goes off on it's own sometimes. I need another motherboard as this one is going. It's time to get the money together and get it fixed. Maybe sometime next week if I can pull it off. I doubt it but just maybe.

Mix -- Throw in the towel .. move to someplace warm .. find a nice woman (or take the current one .. your choice) and retire on your SS "disability" ... God keeps throwing up signals and you keep ignoring them ... :)

I can admit a big fault of mine. I do at times because of how long I've been doing this think I know what I'm doing and I've got the answers. That's my ego that gets in the way sometimes. Like I said it gets me in trouble sometimes. I could stand to listen and not always ready to jump and speak so much. Nobody knows everything and as long as we all live we never stop learning something new. If we didn't life would be boring.

Mix, the things you post would have more merit if you actually were a DJ. My guess is that you have some equipment, you like to be the center of attention and you have some young, punk thugs who like to use it. They stroke your ego and you allow them to use you. You have posted no proof that you actually practice what you preach .... you only post ghetto pics with nasty strippers.

Aren't you supposed to be a member of a pretty reputable DJ Association? If so, where are they in helping you? Supporting you to become better? If you're part of that group, you really make their organization look bad.

In fact, I'm not even convinced that half of these posts are yours anyways. I'm guessing you've given a few people your login info and they post as well --- probably the posts we can actually read that make sense. ;)

I'd encourage everyone to just allow his posts to die ... don't reply, don't acknowledge, don't feed his bull**** .... we spend entirely too much time with this guy. Maybe he'll get the point. I know I'm officially done with him.

PEACE & (as an old-grumpy Aussie would say) HAVE A NICE DAY!

first I'm NOT sticking up for mix but when you said Ghetto pics and nasty strippers i think your hitting a Little below the belt, we all don't live and work on Pennsylvania ave.

No I'll take up for me! It wasn't my event and I got contacted to do the event. I accepted it and we did what we were paid to do and that was play music for the party. The stripper ideal was there's. I had nothing to do with that decision. I've been to enough strip clubs in the past and that stuff does nothing for me today. In the past being much younger I would go to such places thinking it was a big deal. That stuff today does nothing for me.

Now to be honest there was a lady there that was by the front door selling some items. She was super FINE!!!!!!!! If she was the stripper I would have gotten into it. She was drop dead gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The bottom line is it was their event to do as they pleased and we were there hired to do a job. The people that came to the party were nice friendly people just looking to have a good time. Nobody that was there came looking to start trouble. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Jeff he cant ignore you as your a Mod and Mods cant be placed on ignore - unless he cant read your posts because he cant understand english

Oh man that was beyond wrong. I think I'm gonna need therapy.

Once again I fell for one of Canute's links and now have regrets that I clicked on the damn thing. Shame on me.

Not that I'm responding to mix, which would be an obvious waste of time, I wanted to chime in on the notion of writing off cheapskate prospects, presumably like the one in the ad. I too have had these kinds of inquiries and dutifully put them in my automated follow-up database, always certain that I'll never hear from them. The odd part is, I've actually had several who end up booking, and at my full rate. Moral of the story in the sales game, don't be so quick to write off prospects because you think they can't afford you. People have an odd habit of affording what they want to afford and on the odd occasion that you talk someone up to your price, they seem to hold you as a high-value vendor.

True dat, Rick.
Some clients treat this much like buying a car.
They walk in all worked up with barriers in place, in full riot gear...ready for a fight.
Their first words are "I'm just looking"...in order to command the negotiations.
They feel that if they start at the bottom, they won't get raked over the coals.

My partner made a great statement. They should have posted how much they wanted to spend to book a DJ and let that be it. Then pick a DJ they want to book to do the wedding. I don't get some that want to wait till the last minute to book a to do their wedding. I say a couple should look to book a DJ for their wedding at least 1 year in advance.

Now if they were looking for a DJ that specifies in a certain style of music that's cool. For example a DJ that is very verse in Latin music so that DJ will fit that type of wedding. I just find it amazing that some dj's find it strange that some dj's don't either have all styles of music and don't what to play for all styles of music.

I already know that won't be well received because I posted it. Whether you like what I just said or not it's true.

Hey Mix, is it Vacation time yet?:)

Mix - If you read the posting, you'd find they are already married, plans changed previously, they cancelled their original DJ, and are apparently just looking for a reception party which they probably didn't have. It's now basically a party for their family and friends .. and may still be open if you respond.

Hey Mix,

Why is it that your "partner" is always making "great points", and doing all the gigs -- and all you do is take blurry pics with an expensive camera, that apparently fell off a truck by accident...?

Perhaps you might consider having a blog like Perez Hilton, or maybe even a talk show...

Just my thoughts :)
