Statistically speaking, New Years DAY, is worse than NYE. People stay up way past their normal bedtime, and are either still drunk, or totally out of it, and decide to go out shopping or drive home from their relatives or friends house.

Thanksgiving ranks at the top if I recall correctly, and July 4th is in the top 3.


There's sooo many cops around up here on those days, that if you go out, you ask the barkeep to call a cab to get you home -- you get a nice, friendly Muslim to drive you. If you lay out the IEDs, you get a discount...

I got asked to do a show but my min is $4 grand

all people want to do is pay peanuts so no thanks
I would rather stay home! (oh or go out)

but if they dont want to pay my price then have a nice day

Dennis, what do you offer for a $4K show? That's got to be some serious lighting and video added on.

Thanks to Dennis, I've decided to offer a $15,000 NYE package so I don't have to work it either.

Dennis you still never answered Steve's question. What would you provide that a person would think of paying you 4k? That's a lot for someone to pay for a basic package. So you're a basic DJ who thinks he can get someone to pay you 4k on NYE? What gives here? You were joking weren't you?

If not please seek a shrink.

nope all holidays are a lot dearer here I started charging 2grand in 2000 for my services and it kept going up each year
(so did everything else here on NYE went up) try a ticket to a club here $150 to get in as they close off most clubs to outsiders unless they have pre booked tickets

you want a show here you have to PAY for it

Even hiring extra gear they up the prices because its when EVERY one wants extra gear on a NYE

my hire gear prices also went up over the years

so me saying I want a 4grand min for a show/party then they can either pay it or go elsewhere (some may even pay more from some djs here locally)

so others dont like it you do what you do I do what I do and stick ya big nose out of my Business
