I have an SM 57 as my main wired mic. I had 2 backup mics, until today, that I accidentally ran over with my van. They were nothing special, but they were backups, and also used for my kids events. They came with my Fender Passport. So I am looking to buy two wired mics, that don't have to be the same price or quality as an SM 57.

Shure SM58 is a rugged standard as is the Sennheiser 835 (I have 7 of them).

Many a Grammy winning album had vocals on a 57(same guts as 58).
 
Yes it is. The rejection characteristics are slightly different but they can pretty much be interchanged.
