I got a response back to an email i sent a bride. Now i don't remember the email i sent as i send and receive emails all the time. They didn't include the date they are to get married. I happened to find out they couldn't access our website. Easy correction for that. I just had to contact them so the bill could get paid. I've got a lot going on and i just can't remember everything.

I gathered from the email this not the El cheapo bride. They said they wanted fog for their first dance and a photo booth for their guest to use. So that let me know this is not the bride looking for a DJ that will do their wedding for $500.00. The whole thing is to be 5 hours. 1 hour for cocktail and the rest is the reception. They also want someone to MC the wedding too.

They left me a number to call after 5pm. I'll call them after 5. The thing i had to let them know is that we would have to find out is it OK to use fog at this venue? You don't want to get in trouble with any fire codes and you certainly don't want the sprinkler system being set off.

I'll see how things go when i call. It's just nice to get an email from someone that is not looking for the cheapest entertainment they can find.

Sprinkler systems are set off with heat not fog! Alarms can be set off with fog!

He may have meant the alarm - just didn't say it. You are correct tho - heat sets off the sprinkler heads.

If I couldn't access someone's website, I would assume they aren't in business any more and look elsewhere.

Your website should be your home screen and come up on your computer and your phone. That way if something is wrong, you will know right away. You should be the first one to know that your website is down.

Mix,
Especially for weddings, I believe you are mistaken that people are looking for the cheapest. Many people are looking for the best value, and if they don't see distinct reasons to pay more, they will go with the less expensive one, just as we all do in many things we buy. But if you can figure out how to show them value and not price, you'll have plenty of business.

It was $50 but he has to wait until they've gone to bed to go get it.

Mix answered the question. It's $1095. He won't dare quote that amount for his DJ service, but he has no problem saying the number when it's for somebody else's photobooth.

Hey Mix, where's the update? Tell us what happened when you called...

I talked to the bride. She said she didn't call me back because she's been very busy working 2 jobs. I didn't have long to talk because I was going into a meeting. She said we could meet on Saturday after 4pm. I'm going to call her today after 3 like she said and find out what time she wanted to meet and where.

If I were you, I would've told her that a late Saturday afternoon meeting is not possible.

I got a meeting with this bride tomorrow at 5:30pm in Jercey City, NJ. This is one of those times I'm scared of this meeting. The truth is I've never had a client that I know is looking to pay a lot of money for a DJ company to come do their wedding.

I mean some real serious money that I've been looking to make finally. I'll be prepared. Please just say a prayer for me that I get the job.

My prayers will be that if you get it that you CAN do the job! Praying for both you and the Client so that they don't kill you. I don't want the News to read.
"DJ found dead stuffed in a Sub with a Wireless Mic stuck up his butt and a horn in his mouth" Upon further investigation it came to the conclusion that A Bride and Groom who hired the DJ was very unsatisfied with his performance. All Hell Hell broke loose when he was specifically asked to play "Faithfully by Journey" and he belted out Mambo # 5 from his speakers one of which was going on and off intermittently. He was taken outside never to be seen again!

I don't know of any bride that looks "to pay a lot of money". From what I can tell so far, you only know what types of things she'd like at her wedding, not how much she's looking to spend. Good luck to you.

You're right Sharp. I don't know how much she has to spend but I'll bet it's more then $500.00.
