Truss Wiring

Wasn't sure if this should go under lighting or here.

So I used a standard T bar and sometimes the 2 T bar with a connecting truss piece.
Just the regular black stands most of us probably use.

My question is do any of you have your stands hard wired already? It takes forever
to wire all the lights up and if I could have the power cords and DMX somehow permanantly
wired that would be awesome!

If any of you have done this would you mind posting a picture and explaining how you did it?
Thanks!

I have. I don't leave the wires attached to the stands, but I do to the 2 5' I-beam truss sections. I made a custom harness for both "T" bars and both "I" beams. I set up the truss, hang the lights, plug them in, and drop a power line to the wall, and I'm ready to go. I don't use the T bars, but have 2 colorsplash 196 LED fixtures on a very short T bar on each stand. on the one bar, I also have a chauvet DMX reciever so my DMX is wireless. The output feeds the first Colorsplash to start the chain. The attached image is quite old now, but is a decent representation of the system, and I still use the same harness, but a slightly different Light configuration. Notice I use a slightly out of configuration LIght truss also. I had 2 alternate I beam mounts made to allow me to narrow the stand placement, and also place them in front of the I-beam truss to help balance the wieght. Prior to this, the stands leaned forward.

A lot of our fixtures are prewired in the trusses...basically a bundle zip tied inside the truss with the ends at each location. Joints in the truss have one of a couple different connectors. We have a 'snake' (home made bundle of wires really) that runs from the distro/dimmer box up the truss. It realy cuts down the number of wires we have to run at setup.

I use a T-Bar type thing and I leave the 4 slim pars mounted on it and all pre-wired power and dmx,,,,, but then I run the DMX and power cable up,,, easy stuff..

I would think that many of use would have trouble transporting a 10ft section of prewired truss I-Beam (shut up Valerie:)). My trailer is only 6 feet long. I have to wire it every time. And I keep it clean which takes even longer.

Mine is not a truss, but it was built to mimic the protection of a truss.
It's all hard-wired and is wireless, too.
