So, I *think* I found something Apple doesn't do easily.

Everything isn't about Microsoft you know.

For one, without FAT, there would be no intermediary between MS and the other OS's (not just apple).

You mean there are other kinds of computerz that don't run Windoze or use NFS?>! OMG! ;-)

Best,

Paul

What ! NO WRITE TO NTFS!!!!! FAT 32! ROTFLMAO!!!!!! Let's step BACK in time. :monhissyfit:

Best,

Paul
Actually, from what I read, the Mac's HFS+ filesystem is much better than FAT32 or NTFS. It is similar to that used on much larger UNIX based systems. So it would be the PC world that needs to step up their game.

Steve, thanks for the info....NTFS runs on all my machines. I use Windows. It's what I know and like. File transfer is as easy as 1,2,3. There's an old saying: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". That's my plan!

Best,

Paul

Agree .. Windows environment, NTFS all the way. It's all I use as well. HFS+ requires 3rd party software on a PC .. but it's the standard (and a better one) on the Mac. The only time to be concerned and get knowledgeable is when you need to operate in both worlds.

And it depends what you're trying to do in both worlds. Example, my library is stored on an NTFS drive - which my Apple can read and use. My Windoze machines control the library. I don't want many hands in the cookie jar.

OMG, you mean there is another dimension...?

No wonder I can't find what box my Mac is in -- guess I'll have to watch the Twilight Zone to figure out where the paperweight is... xf:D

Send it to me... it will have a happy home......

OK, so it looks like my issue was with the HDD format. Though the package had both Windows and a Mac logo on it.

Probably means it doesn't work well with either ;)
