I've run my I-Tech 8000 on a 15 amp circuit more than once...never had a problem. Was also running an I-Tech 4000 as well at the same time on the same circuit. Done this a few times, they draw what they need. I had the volume I needed to keep my crowd happy. This using a pair of SR4719X dual 18's and SR4735X 3 ways.

I have a pair of PLX 3402's.....love 'em. Notable difference in sound quality and far tighter bass when using the Crowns though. Negative feedback can be a good thing!

Sometimes when I'm just using my SRX715's on poles, I'll drag out the "antique" Macro-Tech 5002VZ. The 715's on their own get scary loud and stay clean, they just like the watts. There's a reason JBL recommends what they do powerwise. Power them right, and they sing well. Most folks just don't go that extra step and just go with something "adequate". Funny thing is, I've had the 5002 a long time, don't feel even the slightest need to get rid of it except when I put it in the van from my cart! I can deal with the heavy for the sound I get. It's depreciated itself to the point now that it is a free amp to me.

715's here too! Get em high and let em shine. Man I don't think I'll buy Dual SR-X. THose 715's are plenty for my gigs. I have cheaper Duals I put them on top of. Sometimes I don't even run the duals...they are just glorifies speaker stands for the 715's

Was this in addition to your other regular gear - or were the amps on that circuit by themselves?

Sometimes all on one, although lately most places I've been playing I've been able to identify 2 separate circuits to use. The bigger system doesn't go out as often as I may like.

I don't go ANYWHERE without my 50' 10/3 SOOW extension cords. Heavy duty and a tad overkill, but I need to know that I can get an extra 20 amps where I need it. One of the best investments I've made.
 
I have found most 20 amp circuits these days will let you get away with some very short but high peak amps. Long as you are running the proper extension cords or power distribution units you really should not have an issue if the system is just spiking for the brief hard hits. I don't think many people would be playing an even where they ned constant 5000watts in a place that just had one or two 20 amp circuits available.

Most amp meters don't respond fast enough to show peaks, but if you have a high dollar fluke meter you could probably see that you at times are pulling way over 20 amps but for very very short peaks, and the breakers will require more to trip.
 
Bklyn its always good to run it up to 11 and hope it survives eh? I am laughing over here. Why not push the limits, test the edge. No thanks I like breathing room and will get a distro or find another dedicated circuit to keep within proper limits. I dont like playing Russian Roulette unless Im drinking Tequila.

Ok... so... We now have 4 SRX718s, 2 SRX722s and an I-Tech 8000, I-Tech 4000 and XTi 1000. Of course the 8000 is for the subs and the 1000 & 4000 for the 722s. We also have an Alesis (DEQ 830) 8 channel digital eq.

Originally we were going to run 6 channels of the eq by using 2 channels per side in our three way setup. Now I am thinking of using on 3 channels, therefore using the eq for both left and right on a single channel... thoughts?

Also, we are in the process of selecting an 8 - 16 channel mixer. Theoretically we only need 2 mic channels and maybe 2-6 additional channels. I figured that 4 mic channels would be the most we would ever run since we typically only run 1-2 mics for our school shows. What's a great 8-12 channel mixer under $500 that we could purchase?
