Now before we start, a little history.... I moved to Maui 8 years ago, but now I am back in CA and when I was here before 75% of my yearly income was from doing school dances full time for 19 years.... (this is so you understand that I know what to do and am not taking some gig I have never done)

Moving to Maui the schools didn't have the money I wanted so I did very few of them. But I am back and now schools are wanting me back. So here comes the first Prom that I have done in 8 years...

I am not worried about the music itself, I have been checking out posted play lists and so on,,,, but what seems to be lacking is good new slow songs....

I am not asking what you do at your events so please no "we don't play slow songs" or that stuff.

Also please no, "look here" at some chart...

What I AM asking for is names of good slow songs that work at Proms. Titles and Artists. I get Promo Only and RPM both. So I am sure I will have the songs but I just don't know them.

So please post your fave Prom slow songs....

Thanks in advance for keeping the thread on track and for your help.

Adele - Set Fire to the Rain
Jason Mraz - I won't give up
Bruno Mars - It will Rain

Journey - Don't Stop Believin' is good play coming OUT of a slow set. Some slow dance to it, others just sing.
Kc and JoJo - All My Life
Ladyd Gaga - You and I
Lifehouse - You and Me

Just wrapping up prom season here in KC....we typically play no more than 4 slow songs at each prom. Ones that I like to use:

A thousand Years - Christina Perry (off breaking dawn soundtrack I think)
Fall for you - paramore
We are young - FUN....we used this as our "senior only dance"....semi slow start, then they sing the rest of it. Kick the Juniors off the floor for this one ;)
I believe I can fly - R Kelly...bringing it back....they will sing along to it.
Anything Taylor Swift, Adel will work well
Usually some "non-dancing couple" will request a slow song or two, we try and dedicate on of those to that couple

Good luck and have fun!

Yep! I have a popular transition mix I use for that, some of you may have it (I think I got it from yourremix before they folded) its don't stop believing into one more time...great transition from slow song....to slow/fast song...back into upbeat 120-128bpm hits.
