Amazon mp3's are vbr's and not cbr's.

That's why I prefer I Tunes...and Prime Cuts.

VBRs are no worse than CBRs and potentially better at the same bit rate .. the downside is they're not as widely useable as some devices seem to wig out on them. Above 192K, most studies show little practical difference and certainly no audible one in a non-controlled environment. I don't currently gig out enough to justify a cd service or mp3 pool, though a mp3 pool does sound tempting.

Some DJ softwares search within a track much better with cbr. That's all.
