Illuminated/Backlit Keyboard

I am looking for an Illuminated/Backlit Keyboard to install in my Console for my MEP 7000 Controller. I will get the Keyboard first then buy and install a 1U slide out Tray/Drawer in which to put it.
Any recommendations? Maximum width has to be about 18" or less.

Here's what I use in my system. It's flat - 1/4" high, all black and sleek:

This one is lightly velcro'd atop my laptop keyboard. Makes it much easier to type in the dark.

I'm sure there is a wireless version available.

I just got one for my D2....
found it on Amazon.

search for "mini usb illuminated keyboard"
and you'll find a million.

careful
some are REAL tiny ones made for smartphones
some done use the standard QWERTY key configuration
and some are not ILLUMINATED, they are merely BACKLIT

So which is better in dark conditions, the Backlit or Illuminated one?

backlit ones only have light around the edges of the individual keys (comes from below)
the illuminated ones are WHITE PLASTIC, so the light shines thru the key itself.

thats why I went with the WHITE one

It doesn't list the width though, that I can see...

I use a Siatek Cyborg backlit at home -- but I measured it, and it's just a touch over 19 inches.

OK I decided to try something. I remember that I have all kinds of Hardware, Brackets, Screws, Blank Panels etc lying around so I put these items to use. I just built a Keyboard shelf and it is high enough so the Console lights shine on it. I will test it out at a Gig tomorrow and if I am comfortable with it then I won't have to buy a keyboard or sliding shelf/drawer.
Two screws will remove the shelf or brackets with shelf. The case cover is deep enough that I can leave the brackets attached.

You'll regret that the first time you take a L bracket in the nuts.

Then there is the extra time to take the brackets and shelf off, disconnect the keyboard....

I will look up my keyboard its nice and compact but this one you posted is great for Senior citizens!! :tritongue:
