Simplicity Abounds. The colors are interesting very deco...... Might work great in Arizona. Not so much in London where they would prefer something more with Angst atleast judging by the way the town went nuts this weekend.

I like the color concept and name but the rest, uh-uh. I have no idea what you do from that card. The weebly.com thing and the gmail email address on the card make you look very unprofessional. Dude, www.simplyal.com is available! What the heck? Do you want me to buy it for 15 bucks and sell it to you for 1500? This kind of stuff makes it harder for those of us trying to raise the image / reputation of professional deejays. Come on man!

Consider it a challenge for you!

...however, I will hopefully be purchasing the domain over the next couple days (nothing yet built for the site). As for what I do, my business cards will be given to people who know what I do.

Very Unprofessional...to who? Steve- honestl;y, you're being ridiculous.

Do you really really think a prospect cares, or for that matters knows the difference between a gmail suiffix versus a "yourdomain" suffix?

Gimme a break!

Isn't that like preaching to the Choir? You want the cards in the hands of people who do not already know you. Here is an idea, give 5 cards to each of your friends, have them sign it, for every card that turns into a gig, give them $50.00 That will get them advertising for you.

Very bright Idea!!!

Again I would disagree, do you randomly hand out business cards to someone you haven't even spoken to? If I give a card to someone who knows someone, that first someone know what I do. Simple!

Al, I've always loved your posts; I'm just trying to be helpful.

Steve, yes, I am dead serious about the domain issue and yes I do think prospective clients know the difference. In fact, I have had conversations about this very topic with different people and they all agree that those using a gmail address on their card or in their ad, must not be very professional and they are less likely to call them before the ones using their own domains. It's all about perception. Do you want people to perceive you as a professional?

So call me ridiculous if you want. Oh wait, you already did. I am ridiculous but busy. :)

While I like the simplicity of the first card, the second does provide the holder with information about what services you provide. Also agree with Maestro about the domain name for the website and email, if the domain is in the budget. It is not that expensive and buys not only the name, but a more positive perception of your business.

I don't understand your logic!

I like the simple version front, but agree you should lose the gmail and weebly and get simplyal.com somehow. I also think that the now unused back might be useful for at least a taste of what you do, as someone who gets the card might think you a songwriter or singer ... not the stuff you make money on.

Masestro, you as well. as you can see I have removed the website completely; too me the url did not fit the design. I grouped my name and email together so that 'not having' a domain doesn't show to the eye. Phone, DJ/Company name, slogan grouped on the other side.

Understand that even though I have been a DJ for over 18years, this venture in my life 'simply Al' is brand spanking new. I am starting from scratch. I read everyone's posts and take points from each (even Ceaser).

I agree with Maestro. It does make a difference. I notice it all the time when people hand me their card. Gmail, AOL type email addy's just look unprofessional, imo. Do you see any major company using those type email accounts to do business? No. Why is that?

As for the card itself, it needs to clearly indicate what it is you do/offer. Let's say you decide to do a Bridal Show. Hundres of Brides may very well visit dozens of DJs, Bands, Harpests, etc. at the show. They drop your card in their bag along with everyone else's card. Now, when they get home, how will they know what you do? Are you a Ceremony Harpest, Reception Band or a DJ?
