Looking to dump our table

So, in this process of streamlining out set up, we are looking to cut down on the use of the table.

I have looked around and not really seen anything like I am wanting, but I could be looking in the wrong spot. I will tell you what we will be using first, and maybe someone out there can recommend something.

We use an inline mixer (one rack space), an eq (one rack space) and when we get what I think we are going to get for new equipment, will be down to one amp (2 rack spaces)

We currently are using Gator cases (2 4 rack space ones) and with the new stuff, will go down to one of those if we have too, but I would prefer to have something that is rolling. That being said, everything I see is slant top, which we dont need. I would like to have something that we would be able to run our wires out of the front of without having to have a face, but still keeping the front covered (in others, something with just a small hole in the bottom corner of the front of it). It would also need a place for use to put the laptop.

One option is a convertible rack (like this one from EWI at audiopile.net) You can leave the top part level or raise as needed/wanted. You can add either table leaf (actually the front and back case lids with legs attached inside) as needed as well. Different sizes as well.

editted as I see you are down to just a few components .. ok .. well maybe someone else can use this idea. Maybe something like this one I have (SKB 1SKB-R104 with added shelf). I don't have the laptop shelf yet, but there are side holes that pop-up near the back to run cables from so nothing goes out the rear if you don't want it to:

I have seen those Steve, and like the looks of them, the problem is that the front is still open and all the wires and backs of stuff will be seen without using a facade

The SKB case I added can have the cables come out either side (near the rear bottom). There are removable/replaceable plugs you can use and leave the rear closed.

If you are going to have an amp(s) in a closed case then you will have to spend money to install rack mount fans to pull out the heat. The additional space needed for the fans will increase the size of the case. If you decide on a case that can be lifted up, then I would suggest this as a stand. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/WS8540/ Put the case on top of it and make a skirt for it if you wish. It is height adjustable. You can use the space beneath to store stuff while at the gig.To transport, buy or make a furniture dolly or use a Rock n Roller (Recommended)

If you are referring to this http://ourdjtalk.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=25603&d=1328732313 Make sure it will fit within the facade. Remember do not count the wings of the Facade as part of the length.

Haven't had time to load it up. There are a few things that I need to order before putting everything in the rack.

Just remember that if you got with a self contained rack like that.....a 6" step or a 12" stage gets quite large...... I would love to switch to a rack like that....then I have to roll gear on gravel or grass....with a little entry hump........I remember why I broke my rack appart and use a 2-wheeler.

My Rack weighs a ton. There is no way I can lift it even an inch from the ground but there is such a thing called leverage. I can tilt it and go up small curbs. For stages, I would ask someone to help me and then tip them $5.00 or $10.00, For in and out of my van, I use a ramp. Mine is a 16space in the front and slant top. The plus about a rack is that almost everything is already connected, even the speaker cables. Just add your source and roll out the speaker cables and you are ready to rock the house.

Also, we would not have that much in it....it would be more for looks that filling it with equipment. At this point (we bought our new system last night)...we would only have an amp, an eq and our inline mixer in it.....with the new facade we ordered, I think we are just going to stick with the table and get a new tabletop case / laptop stand combo

Too bad you didn't order what I did if you could use it. I ordered a odyssey facade with a table top built inside. I can easily use it for my Denon 6000 and case. This way I don't need to bring a table and won't need to use one at the venue. It was $99.00 plus shipping.
