DJ Intelligence Vs Gig Builder

I've used Gigbuilder, then DJ Event Planner, then Gigbuilder again, then I gave DJ Event Planner a second chance.

I'm now with Gigbuilder for good. Here's why:

- The credit-card payment integration is flawless. I like to get paid, and this feature makes it too easy for clients to pay me. Put away your Square readers and stop using Paypal for credit card transactions. The Gigbuilder way is the best way.

- DJ Event Planner is run by just one person. Although I admire the efforts that Troy has put into making DJ Event Planner a credible choice in a crowded field, he's the only one who can troubleshoot it, write code for it, and provide ongoing support for it. That scares me. If something happens to Troy (God forbid), what happens with the program and my data? Gigbuilder, on the other hand, offers a downloadable offline portal and has a dedicated support staff of at least four people. I'm confident that I'll always have access to my data, even if something drastic happens.

Just my thoughts.

Brendon - what happens to your Bride's wedding this Saturday if for some reason you were unable to fulfill it? (illness, car wreck- you pick the scenario)

With GB you can have so called "employee" log-in features. It allows my 2 buddies to access information if I would die or be sick, they are my backup. My spouse also has admin access to everything and knows the basics if god forbid I would die.

I understand where you are coming from Steve, but I think Brendan would like it if there were a couple of other people to help support the product.

I've thought about trying other software. I just don't have the time. It took some time getting GB setup and I for one am happy with it.

I'm looking for a software program that has everything to offer. Importing your clients info, income totals for the month and year. Easy to use. I don't want to have 2 programs that does this. Currently we have DJI and DJEP. They do not intergrate with each other. I recently asked Troy about this and he gave me a rather sarcastic remark, which I didn't appreciate...Suggestions?

ewebmin can do that stuff but its 2 seperate programs. You have to look at DJI as a frontend for your clients and ewebmin as your admin area. Once you intergrate dji & ewbmin all your new leads, quotes, etcwill be synced with ewebmin and you can pull reports and track your data better.

Why would you be surprised, they're competing products....

Capitol DJ Service DJ software take five? Im sure if you knew Troy he said it in jest hes a fun guy and if you knew more of the history you might understand the level of sarcasm. Who chose you as the monitor of comments in regards to this topic?

I've got a solid backup network here, with about a dozen DJs and at least 3 trusted people who have access to all of my business info including my Gigbuilber login. The show would go on without me.

Bingo. Look, Troy's a nice guy and all (I've had the opportunity to talk with him in person twice in the past two years), but DJEP is his baby and he keeps a very tight grip on it. He's the technical wizard behind the whole program. He's also the coder, the customer service, the front office and the receptionist.

I'm not putting a death wish on him by any means... but it's no secret that DJEP is a one-man show. When you start servicing the number of clients that he has, it's probably a good idea to share the backup plan with your customers for the sake of peace-of-mind.

Just wanted to correct some information posted in this thread. DJEP has had an additional support person on staff for about 2 years. Jason Spencer helped last year. This year Alex Taylor has stepped in to replace Jason (who got very busy running his own successful DJ company). Alex provides support, does design work, is the DJEP Facebook guru, and has access to the servers to keep things running in my absence. He JUST did so while I was on a family vacation in Florida for 10 days. He is UK based and handles the BPM Trade Show in Birmingham. He will also be flying over to the US for the MBLV show. Stop by our booth and meet Alex, myself, or Eric Wenning and James Mennes (our trade show sales guys).

As far as Tim's comment goes, I'm not sure what I said, but my apologies. Communication over the internet can be tricky sometimes as the tone of the words is missing from the communication. Please note that support is provided via the support forum for non-premium level users. I made an exception and tried to help Tim via email. I went above and beyond to try and assist him with his query.

I'd like to say thank you to all of the DJEP users here at Our DJ Talk. Really appreciate your support in 2011. We are working on some cool stuff for our users that will be released in 2012. Stay tuned!

http://yyyyyyy.com

I’ve just started using XXXYYY.com instead of DJ Intelligence (which is well outdated and why I was looking for another solution).

I found XXXXXX 100 times better, and more user friendly… a

nd best of all it is free!!!

They have better Agendas, floorplans, and other Managing tools.

Seriously? The two are nothing alike!

Spammer?!?!?!?!?!
